Now he's being kind, Switch has only been out since March.
I do believe it will do well though.

You know... while I absolutely love my ps4 and Switch as consoles it has to be said that they wouldn't look quite as impressive in their own rights if it wasn't for the VHS sized ugly duckly which MS kicked out onto the market this gen trailing Kinect and unwanted TV apps behind it.
It's just like being in a bar and there is a semi nice looking guy/girl... but they're standing next to a monster, makes them look like an instant 10, that's what MS has done this gen for Nintendo and Sony, it has become the other consoles fat friend.
I hope this comparison doesn't cause upset as it sounds rather harsh, I'm just trying to put things in context here and it does sound like a dig at the X1, but it's not just that... I'm saying that the PS4 on its own isn't the most amazing piece of kit that it could have been, it does feature some great specs but as games like Assassins Creed Unity have shown it is heavily lacking in the CPU department to handle "next gen" AI in comparison to what the CELL could allow in games last generation,
Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Which sales has it spiked in Japan software-wise other than Nintendo's games? |
The more Japanese consoles are selling well in Japan the greater the chances of profitablility for Tecmo Koei Tecmo games. The two strongest brands of the year in Japan are home grown. If they can continue to grow in console sales the base will there to have profitable muliplatform projects. Im sure plenty of DS devs are going to make exclusives for the switch as plenty of JRPG's are destined for both platforms in the coming years.
lol. switch is only going to revitalize nintendos first party game sales number.
When KT says this they mean their games sell a shit ton more this gen compared to last gen and not just in Japan. They're a lot bigger in the West now, and Asia. Games like AoT, all those Musou games, Nioh, DOA, Berserk, their rpg studio, they even brought back their RTS games.

That comparison sucks. PS4 is a 8 or 9 for its incredible lineup, not his problem MS is a 2.
"I'm saying that the PS4 on its own isn't the most amazing piece of kit that it could have been"
For the price you did get the best available, there was no gimmick bundled, I too wanted $499 PS4 with a HD7950 and beefier cpu, but it probbaly wouldn't have sold as good.
Besides, current gen games look great. ACU isn't a benchmark, games like GoW, Horizon, Death Stranding etc are what its capable of, not some 3rd party game.

Are we really back to the days where "only Nintendo games sell on Nintendo consoles"? Bomberman, Tetris, Lego City, Street Fighter have all done well on the Switch (either exceeding expectations or selling better than other versions) and NBA Jam must have, too as it was very high on the eshop charts.
The PS4 is selling extremely well and nobody is doubting that. But the Switch is doing great as well and helped to revitalise the market. There's no need to move the goalposts all the time. We went from "Switch will fail like the Wii U" to "Switch sales will drop off after a few months" to "only Nintendo games sell on Nintendo hardware". There's no reason for this. The PS4 is doing amazingly well, the Switch success is not going to take away from that.

Try harder. The theard is about the Japanese CONSOLE MARKET. Not software, not world wide sales... consoles... in Japan. Switch is getting Japan back into the home console market because it allows them to take it on the go as well. That's the entire point of the thread. |
I'm actually looking closely at the text and can't see where it says Japanese console market only? I made the same mistake as you.
Also, the Switch is also a handheld so tough to know if it revitalised the console market.

Incorrect as the PS4 library stands on its own.

Do you have numbers for those Switch games you listed?
