So Splatoon 2 outsells the original in the UK with a severely lower install base?

I think we can end the "flop" comments here
, especially considering not selling really well in the UK (which we don't even know is the case for Splatoon 2, if anything the opposite since it's selling at a faster pace with a smaller install base) isn't going to really even going to affect Splatoon 2 world wide sales much in anyway, cause if it did the original wouldn't of almost sold 5 million on the Wii U.

Not really, considering the original was a flop as well. Less of a flop, sure, but still looks like a flop.

True, I guess gaining higher sales than the original in the UK still just felt like a win considering the much smaller install base and the fact that the original sold so well even without extremely high numbers in the UK.

Crash is beastings, huge jump for BotW and Mk8. Splat2 beat splat1 on less install base.

Crash is amazing, still 1st after splatoon released, even if the uk isn't a good market for nintendo

Splatoon 2's opening couldn't beat a remaster's third week. Hardly impressive.

Woah, did Crash get a big boost or did Splatoon kinda flop? :O

This is the answer:

Well this is the UK and it's 4.5 million PS4's vs 200k Switch's right now.

Plus Crash is pretty considerably cheaper here than Splatoon 2 and a more well known and bigger IP. The original Splatoon only sold 177K in the UK at retail over 2 and a half years, it's ok but even just the NS version of Botw is close to outselling that in just a few months.

Also this is offical:  "Splatoon 2’ outperforms the original becoming the 3rd biggest ever Switch launch, behind Zelda and Mario".

But have the switch had any big releases except those 3?

N Sane Trilogy just sells and sells in the UK. It's going to be one of those with mad legs and will probably reach a million sold in the country.

Absolute megaton seeing crash ps4 take #1 spot in its 3Rd week during splatoon launch. Fantastic to see.

And lol at people saying UK gamers have terrible taste. Supporting titles like crash and Persona 5 to #1 spots shows they have great taste.

I just have to quote this post again.

Gatito - [Yooka-Laylee will sell more then Crash on the Switch alone.]

In fact I think it deserves a spot in my signature.

Amazing for Crash, I can't wait to see the numbers.

But what evidance you have that Splatoon 2 floped!? You do realise that Switch in best case has around 200k instal base in UK, and if some Switch game wants to get to number one needs to have very high attach rate.

Also this is a offical: "Splatoon 2’ outperforms the original becoming the 3rd biggest ever Switch launch, behind Zelda and Mario".

ARMS for instance, but nobody stated that ARMS had 3rd biggest Switch launch ever. Also we had info that Lego City Undercover had better launch on Switch compared to PS4 and XB1.

PS4 be like: why cant I hold all these dominations?

UK has a very low amount of Switches compared to other markets. And Splatoon hasn't impressed tbh but I think it will be a slow burner in this market
