Forums - Politics Discussion - Trump extends Obama's 'worst deal ever'

He didn't think it would work. It seems to be working. He's keeping it. Smart move.

If he thinks it's working then why is he so reluctant? Sounds more like he got yet again had to be told what he had to do by people who are smarter than him.

Breaking campaign promises left and right does not sound like a smart move to me.

Can someone explain the hate towards Iran?

its not about hate.... its about mis trust.

When you dont trust someone to act rational, you dont want them to have nukes.

I think thats the guist of it.

Obama still got elected again.  Remember the close Gitmo, repeal Patriot Act, etc.....?  Although I do have to say Trump is a more disliked person than Obama ever was.

it's pretty easy

as Flilix hinted at Saudi Arabia is engaged in an islamic cold war with Iran over religion and regional influence and additionally Iran has called for the destruction of Israel for decades, so both of the US's/West's most influential allies in the region are unhappy with Iran gaining power/respect

Perhaps we shouldn't have invaded Iraq who was controlled by a Sunni Ba'athist which is a majority Shiite country.

I LOVE this. It's one of Obama's best decisions and I am glad Trump has realised that.

This is confusing me though, I have no idea what the Saudis paid up all that money for. Just to green-light Bin Salman's accession to the throne? Hilarious

I also can't wait to see Breitbart's spin on the story, if anyone knows what there take is on this, link me up!

The difference being that Obama didn't make a million unkeepable promises at once and then claimed everyone else is shit at their job but him.

Obama didn't achieve some of his goals but at least he didn't make impossible promises and then was an asshole about it. Has he blamed not being able to close Gitmo on McCain?

Even then we could've been friends, but those ingrateful bastards overthrew the monarchy USA and UK put so much effort to establish.

Heard on NPR radio today but it is a good point.  Guy was saying that Democrats laid down for Obama to pass something (the ACA) early even though it cost them their jobs in 2010 elections.  Right now Republicans aren't willing to lay down for Trump to pass anything besides maybe a tax cut for the rich.  Republicans are pretty much the worst people to talk about improving the overpriced for profit healthcare market in the USA.  They can't come up with shit because they are pretty much battling a flawed system.  So it comes down to there wont be shit done on healthcare for another 2 years now because they can't come up with the votes to even bring it up to debate.  Sorry not even sure why I'm talking about healthcare but I saw McCain and knew he was in surgery/recovery and waiting to come back to somehow move shit forward but 2 republicans just switched to no vote.

I'm going to argue that Trump has not realized a single thing in the past 2 years. I very much doubt he has even the slightest why this deal is good or important. He couldn't even point at Iran on a map.

He's just going through the motions and sometimes does and sometimes doesn't do what people tell him.
