After Splatoon 2, Nintendo maybe increase the shippments world wide too. So, maybe will be win-win. But yeah, on Japan its sealed for Switch!!

What's your basis for this? Nintendo is going to start shipping 70-100k units every week for Japan (assuming that the DQXI boost to PS4's baseline is only moderate)?

It's not the games that are lacking, it's the consoles. Switch sells on amazon japan currently with 50% over suggested price by Nintendo

I was replying to jranation.  He was saying Nintendo will have 3 market shares instead of 1 and will enjoy that as if Sony won't be enjoying the current situation even more.  

 

While we can focus on one region, the region Nintendo and Sony really want to dominate is the globe.  So I was simply pointing out to him that Sony won't lose much sleep over not having a Vita succesor.

And Sony makes more money from PSN than the entierty of Nintendo. What does that have to do with anything?

Ps4 did make a profit from day 1. Psn alone now brings in more then Nintendo.  The overall Playstation revenue is far bigger too. 

 

The vita is still on the market.  3DS and Vita are winding down.  I think next year 3ds gets really low.  Switch will be the sole m Nintendo platform in the next 2 years.  Same as ps4 for Sony when vita officially dies.
