Kimmy should be given credit too. Since he took over Nintendo, the company has become quite effective with its mobile offering, use of Nintendo Directs, marketing and advertising. On the other hand, supplying and manufacturing...

Im not sure how much of a part he plays in western advertising. I also think directs were better with Iwata than with Kimishima.

They're much more effective now, because lesser time is wasted in presentation and introduction and more time is dedicated to unveil and show gameplay for games. It's a much... colder way to present it, but I am talking about effectiveness here.

Kimishima's approach on presentations fits with eastern culture. While Microsoft's presentation had a lot of unnecessary talking and whatnot, Nintendo simply presented trailer after trailer and showed gameplay afterwords.

I don't see why more companies don't copy Nintendo. Their E3 was only around 25 minutes, and yet I thought it was much more effective than Microsoft's 90 minute presentation

Iwatas effort, Kimishimas gain.

This. He's just following along the path already laid out by Iwata. Post-Switch is when we'll see what Kimishima's got.

Probably anonymous, but it hardly matters.  This was actually a shareholders vote.  So that means two things.  One, these were shareholders, whom these executives/board members have absolutely no influence over and who often have limited relations with the company by design.  Second, if you don't like him, vote against him.  He could have been voted out right then with no recourse for him.

On a side note, all 5 executives re-elected are around 97% favorable votes.  That is very high but things right now are very good so not shocking.  Though it is very high.

Reading it more closely, yeah I was mistaken. I was under the impression it was solely employees. Also the fact that is was 87% last year is a give-away they aren't bound to do anything.

Well anyway, now that he's got their confidence, I hope he keeps the momentum going.

Microsoft's presentation had almost no talking... Nintendo's E3 direct was short because they didn't show much gameplay

They spent like 5 minutes talking about some car called the 9/11.

That was about it when it came to wasted time talking. Most of the time making up the hour difference between MS' and Nintendo's conferences/shows were more games and mroe gameplay shown.

I suppose I like Nintendo's model more. Directs having trailers only and gameplay saved for the treehouse is more efficient

What is ridiculous is that Iwata had like a 75% approval rating after Wii U.

Nintendo's waifu quality has been top notch so far so I can see why.
