They're much more effective now, because lesser time is wasted in presentation and introduction and more time is dedicated to unveil and show gameplay for games. It's a much... colder way to present it, but I am talking about effectiveness here.

Kimishima's approach on presentations fits with eastern culture. While Microsoft's presentation had a lot of unnecessary talking and whatnot, Nintendo simply presented trailer after trailer and showed gameplay afterwords.

 

I don't see why more companies don't copy Nintendo. Their E3 was only around 25 minutes, and yet I thought it was much more effective than Microsoft's 90 minute presentation
