More cooks in the kitchen does not mean a better dish.

Simplistic music in video games has created some of the best soundtracks.

But I still expect this soundtrack to be amazing, hopefully it does not have diminishing returns.

I've only heard about it. A lot of people seem to think that it's more than an okay game.

I'm not an old school Zelda fan.  I only picked up the series in 2015.  I don't hold OoT to be the greatest in the series or the greatest of the OoT established template, but it is still a really good game and IMO works fantastically on the 3DS, which helps soften some of the smallness that it has to it given the technological limits of its time.  I would definitely say it is a worthy addition to your 3DS collection.

I sent an emotionally manipulative email to Playtonic waxing poetic about how Banjo Kazooie was my childhood in the hopes of wheedling some info out of them about the Switch version of Yooka Laylee, specifically how far off it was and whether there would be a cartridge release, but all I got back was "We are presently working really hard on the Switch version, but no decisions have been made yet in terms of release."
