Yeah the Xenoblade 3 Direct was incredible.
Looks like a step up from 2 in every way, and a possible contender for the best game in the series. I already like the characters and find myself intrigued by the story, and the world looks epic, gameplay seems to combine most of the best elements of previous games, and the music as per usual slaps.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, buying Monolith Soft is one of the best moves Nintendo have made this century.

Lol - reminds me of MMOs where you can still get damaged if you were targeted at the right time even if you avoid from the visible line of fire.

If all the in-game enemies were using really long weapons, could stretch out their limbs or used projectiles, sure, I can work with that, but claw swipes and beaks?

It's an RPG, not an action game. WIth the mechanics they have, it would be trivially easy to break the game if enemies had to be right next to you to attack. Spam powerful moves, run while they recharge, repeat. It's a little immersion breaking, but the alternatives would be entirely redo the battle system to make it way more action based, or only include enemies that would have ranged attacks. Neither seems like a good choice. That's kind of been the way RPG games have been almost forever till the majority of them went action-RPG.

Far out, just started Zombie Army 4 and it is great fun.

I love that is has no pretensions, and is as straightforward as they come and geared for maximum dumb entertainment. Obliterate hordes of undead Nazis, that's it. The gyro aiming feels great, the action is meaty and satisfying, and seeing Nazi heads explode never gets old.

It's also a very impressive port, running at a rock solid framerate even as massive hordes of the undead fill the screen.
Rebellion really are one of the unsung heroes of the Switch's third party lineup.

Kotaku getting once again destroyed by the internet for making another awful article, this time featuring Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

Ah yes, Kotaku writers being stereotypical game journalists.

Journalists? I thought they were just a bunch of spiteful idiots.

They are. I mean this type of "journalist" that can't play any games properly even after decades and then hates on great games for being to conplicated because they're to lazy and stupid to understand anything.

Hence why XC3's imo pretty straightforward combat system is apparently "messy".

I'm not really looking forward to XC3 personally, but Kotaku is basically just clickbait nonsense level journalism these days so I can't say I feel bad for them lol

Anyone think there might be a Direct this week? I'm hoping there is, I can't live on just Xenoblade news.

Not what we were expecting, I think.  I'd expect info on Mario+Rabbids and maybe a Silksong release date?  Other than that, it could be anything, I guess.

XBox: Kenjabish

Hoping for Persona and Mario + Rabbids and Silksong could also show up.

Obviously I'm disappointed by it being just and mini partner showcase.

Mini? Partner showcase? Meh.
