Jokes on them. I may buy every game on both platforms, download them to as many memory cards as I need, then stash away the devices in a fireproof safe forever.

Just played Mario Kart Wii for the first time ever and I gotta say it's a ton of fun although far inferior to MK8DX. But still more fun to me than any of the handheld Mario Karts, mostly because of the motion controlls and always pressing down the accelerate button doesn't give me a cramp in the thumb.
I don't like that every character has their own karts and bikes whereas in MK8 you can choose any kart, bike and even quads no matter which character you choose.
I also like it more with two items than one and MK8's item selection is better. That block you can stumble over for example isn't much different from banana peels.
Mario Kart Wii controlls very smoothly and the tracks offer a lot of shortcuts, which is fun. I like it, my second favorite Mario Kart.
Now I just need to play MK64 and Double Dash. MK64 I will eventually play on NSO and I'll wait until DD is also on NSO, since I'm not willing to pay 70€ for a used copy in good condition.
My ranking of Mario Kart games:
1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
2. Mario Kart Wii
3. Mario Kart 7
4. Mario Kart DS
5. Mario Kart: Super Circuit
6. Super Mario Kart
The only one that I don't like is Super Mario Kart, because I just didn't have any fun playing it. It controlls awefully.
Super Circuit is far superior.
The best soundtrack is in MK8 ans DS.

The most important Wii U game wasn't ported, Xenoblade X.
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

How would you port it? That game was dependent on a second screen. How would you port it without gutting so much of the experience and having to rework a ton of stuff?

I mean, it's not like Xenoblade fans have been starved for content in the Switch generation lol
I'm over here hoping and praying every single Direct for a new Star Fox or Donkey Kong :(

Quick menu option. Don't get it twisted, the Gamepad makes FrontierNav management smooth but it's not like a small UI overhaul couldn't make all the functionalities optimal for a traditional controller. In addition, the Gamepad is irrelevant in everything else, it doesn't have any purpose in free-roam exploration or combat. If you really want the old UI, make it available for portable play, just like Off-TV on Wii U.

Hmm, wasn't expecting Crunchyroll to hit the Switch. At least Switch now has the top 2 anime streaming services!

I watch a lot of stuff in Crunchy so the announcement is good, but I'd rather wear the battery further with games, honestly, not with streaming apps, lol.

Last year Nintendo said they were researching and looking into the prospect of upscalers like DLSS and FSR it seems they've already began utilizing such tech as part of their R&D as Switch Sports uses a version of FSR which is open source as detailed on the game's official listing, it seems it's integrated into their inhouse graphics tech for the game so this may mean that when they completed their own equivalent or version it could just be an inhouse thing like the engines used for their first party games so the likes of DLSS 2.0 or above would likely still be a feature for their next platform for third parties.

It's great that upscalers are being used in Switch Sports, but at the same time, Switch Sports is also using Nintendo's old online infrastructure lol
