Switch billboard in my town, Melbourne (Not my photo)

That is one assertive piece of marketing real estate they ponied up for. Nice. It's good to see they aren't just sitting on their hands while the supply issues contine. Wii U Nintendo would have just stopped marketing altogether most likely and let the Wii U coast and let the hype go stone cold before finally getting back at it in some fashion. Current Nintendo seems to know the importance of striking while the iron is hot.

Yeah my thoughts exactly, this bold and aggressive new Nintendo is a far cry from the passive Nintendo of 2011-2016. I never saw an ad like this for the Wii U in its entire lifespan.

Splatoon 2 rage quitters beware

They can still just go afk. Atleast they can tell when the disconnect is on their end as I got dropped many times during the Splatfest but never saw this message. Still, since they haven't implemented the simple feature of exiting a lobby, I don't like this at all.

Yeah can't leave lobby and leaving will give you this screen. Sucks because I ready up for another match by accident so many times when I actually want to back out -_-

Well at this point it's pretty clear that the lack of an option to leave a lobby or change weapons during matchmaking are choices purposefully made by the developers rather than an oversight. The real question is why the hell they want it like this.

..ah what the hell, we can always play squad battles anyway.

I think they said it's to make getting into matches faster. If we want to switch weapons we have to do it on our own time, makes sense but eh.

Well not if you want to get your rank up, they confirmed that league battles (replacement for squad battles) has no effect on your rank.

That's pretty dumb if true, why do they do this? Is it not a separate rank like how it is for different modes?

Nah it's better this way, now you actually have to earn your rank, yourself. League battle uses league power, the same thing as splatfest power.

Everybody hold onto their horses, Wii U just got a new system update!

Improvements to system stability and usability:

  • Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience
______________

I'm not sure the world is ready for this....

Oh.. and on a sadder note, seems like Miiverse isn't long for this world, or so it seems according to a source:

We don’t really have any specifics, though dataminers appear to have made an interesting discovery.

This text was apparently changed with version 5.5.2:

“The Miiverse service has ended. Miiverse and any software features that make use of Miiverse are now unavailable.”
_____________

As much of a weird trainwreck Miiverse was, kinda sad to see it possibly ending soon.

R.I.P. Miiverse

Earn your rank "yourself"? I wasn't aware Splatoon was an individual game, well, what do I know.

Edit: it's like, to be honest I wouldn't mind ranks if it wasn't for the matchmaking. If I never leave Rank C, chances are any league match I play will be against other ranked C players, which will most likely be no fun at all.

If it works like the Splatfests, then you'll face better teams as you win more matches within the same 4-hour session.
