Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair confirmed to be 60fps on Switch.

Didn't think it warranted its own thread but still awesome news, to me anyway, I think the game looks like great fun (gives me Tropical Freeze vibes and I loved that game) and it's nice to see the Switch version being given due care.

It is one of the few platformer I'm currently eager to play this year.

And between us ... taking inspiration from DK Tropical Freeze isn't a negative :D

Same here, it's currently #4 on my most wanted games. And yeah, if you're gonna take inspiration, may as well take it from one of the best. It really does look like a fantastic mix of both Rare and Retro's takes on DKC but with a style distinctly its own.

The New 3DS XL is discontinued in North America. I can't even find a picture of it on their site. Nintendo Japan is still producing it as far as I know.

So now it's 2DS and New 2DS XL only for everywhere except Japan. https://www.nintendo.com/3ds/features/compare/

So no version of the 3DS still offered in NA supports the system's titular feature. Funny how things turn out. Hopefully with the Lite on it's way all models are soon discontinued.

FINALLY, some gameplay footage of the Switch version of Wolfenstein Youngblood. (Gameplay starts at 5:00)

Yeah, I dont think this is the best Bethesda game (performance-wise) on the Switch, but it runs and looks decent enough. Not the version Im getting, but Wolfenstein is a great franchise. If you guys only have a Switch, go for it.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Yeah it does look a pretty rough, though so did Wolf II when it first launched on Switch; Panic Button's ports nearly always get an update a couple months after release that bolsters resolution and framerate. Honestly, it's more the co-op nature of it (RE5 put me off that shit for life) and the lack of a game card release that has me skipping it. Still, I figured people want might wanna see how it holds up as the Switch version was kept tightly under wraps pre-release; it was playable at E3 but no recording was allowed.

One interesting change is that the cutscenes, which were pre-rendered in Wolf II, appear to be running in realtime now.

Also, it's worth noting this gameplay was recorded before the day 1 patch (version 1.1) which apparently has improved performance significantly.

If this is representetive of the whole game, then I take it back.It runs great and the resolution seems quite acceptable!

Yeah, it seems they did quite a decent job, considering that, according to DF's preliminary look at the PS4 version, it's a more demanding game than Wolfenstein II, largely due to the co-op, and that game already pushed the Switch really hard.
