man… WOW! I only saw like five screenshots (as I was double tapping on the YouTube archive of the presentation), but seeing those screenshots just left my jaw on the ground. Haven’t heard any music, haven’t seen any gameplay, don’t even know if its a 1-to-1 remake or reimagining. But wow. Nintendo is delivering something special this holiday.

Around the Network

First off, I'll just say. This is probably the first time in the last decade I saw graphics for a new game and was honestly wowed. Obviously there are more technically advanced things out there, but this was beautifully done. They absolutely nailed the art style.

That said, I'm a bit personally disappointed that they seem to be going for a pretty straightforward remake. There is certainly an audience who wanted exactly that, but I would have rather had something different or new.

Kind of like if I ordered a burger and was served instead a really good pizza. Not what I wanted, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it a lot.

I was not expecting a switch 2 game to wow me like this graphically. It genuinely looks better than a lot of games on ps5/seriesX. Obviously not at the same technical level as the absolute best looking games on these consoles, but it would not look out of place on those consoles.

Alright seeing now that it is a faithful remake, I guess I can’t say I’m surprised. Having never played the original, again, this is a dream come true for my 2017 self who had just been initiated as a Nintendo fan upon playing BotW, but for those who are perfect contrnt playing the 1998 original, I feel for you.

In any case, man am I stoked to be playing a new Zelda from Monolift Soft on my Zelda-themed Switch 2 this November!!
