I mean is it true or false? Could it mean we're winning the fight against AI? Could it mean Switch 2 production won't slow down because of AI driving up RAM and memory prices?

CaptainExplosion, you may want to sit down when reading this… AI is the reason behind the drop in RAM prices. (Hence why I was asking whether you viewed the news as a good or bad.)

That's bullshit, AI should be why RAM and memory prices are dropping because of AI data centres hogging all the RAM and memory chips.

It was surprisingly easy, I just sat down all the different AI bots in a room and held an intervention about their RAM addiction. They were resistant at first and Grok called me a few slurs, but eventually they realized they had a problem and agreed to cut back.

That sure is one way to read the news that "RAM prices are going down because AI is becoming *less* power hungry"...

He's actually not incorrect as ironically an AI compression algorithm was created by Google that significantly reduces the amount of memory required for AI models to work, this caused a situation where these tech companies are now massively overstocked with more memory than they actually require, the result is a heavy drop in demand.

AI is still a bane on the economy, on gaming, and on the environment. We still have the problem of data centers driving away wildlife with the electrical noise they make, wasting drinking water by taking water to cool data centers, and harmful emissions from the data centers that may never go away.

All the more reason for Nintendo, and game devs in general, to not use AI generated content.

So yes, because AI got less power hungry. Saying AI is the reason prices are going down is like saying the eggs are the reason your grocery expenses went down after you started buying 1 egg instead of 3. Sure, you can look at it in that way if you want to.
