It take it we're back to zombies instead of just people infected with a parasite, mold or whatever it was in RE8?

There’s no way there will be a mainline Nintendo Direct in February… there can’t be. Tomodachi Life Direct, Mario Movie Direct, DKCReturns update, updates to all these NS2 games (Kirby Air Riders & Grand Prix mode, MKWorld & Team Knockout Tournament, etc.), Splatoon 3 Aura update, and now Virtual Boy line up???
But if NateTheHate is saying Direct next Thursday, then maybe Nintendo’s got something massive planned.

Doubt it. Nintendo isn't that generous to it's fans.

…um. That’s one way to put it lol. (You seem to have forgotten when they dropped a mainline Switch 1 Direct less than one week prior to their big Switch 2 Direct last year.)
Just because they were announced now doesn’t mean they won't be featured in a Direct, especially if it’s stuff that will be released at a later date.
With that said, they could just be getting this stuff out of the way to make room for the big stuff later down the road. Since the 2nd half of 2026 onward is currently one giant blank slate outside of, the not-confirmed, but we already know is happening, Pokemon Gen 10.

Hopefully it launches in a better state than Gen 9 did.

I'm more inclined to be more positive to the prediction as a certain pattern tends to happen with correctly predicted directs, the rumour of them always drops close to when they happen often one or two weeks before.
Apparently, the developers of Orbitals posted on biliibili that the game will appear in the first Nintendo Direct of 2026.

Well I felt more positive after seeing that Zero Racers has been uncancelled and will be on the NSO Virtual Boy.
