*(I'll have to add a photo later today... apparently the photo I took is 5x the max file size allowed here lol.)*

My mind is blown— The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time @ 60fps, 1440p (16:9). Finally, the $2,000 I paid for this gaming PC is starting to pay off!! Unreal experience.

(What’s crazy is how easily accessible the… um… legally attainable ROM files are for N64 games.)

Dude, you have become part of the problem.

Wait till I introduce him to Everdrive

Everdrive? My curiosity is piqued. :) I’ll look into it.

Also, if anyone’s got advice on emulating N64 on an AMD chip, please inform me. Jabo on P64 is solid for getting that crisp QHD resolution and minimal input lag, but 60fps seems to be a bit more challenging.

p.s. All games I have a ROM of I not only own physically but also have an NSOnline subscription which grants me access to these games.

Hope this isn't true particularly because neither Windwaker or Twilight Princess needs remakes. Just feels like a waste of resources. As far as engine goes, having BOTW engine wouldn't mean that they couldn't have new artstyles but I would like Ocarina of Time remake to have a darker, more mature aesthetic similar to the OG and the terrible fates trailer Ember Lab made:

Speaking of ember Labs, it would be good to see Keena: Bridge of Spirits on Switch 2. Alternatively I'd love to see Playstation invest in them as their own Zelda-esque studio.

That sounds... Awful. Each previous Zelda game is unique. Why on earth would they remake windwaker/TP with the BOTW engine and art style? They would lose their identity. Hopefully BS.

Wasn’t the BotW engine based heavily on the WWHD engine? And TPHD was based either on the WWHD or BotW engine? It worked fine for those games. Plus, I wouldn’t expect nor want Nintendo prioritizing resources to creating an entirely new engine just to create a WW/TP remake… unless you have a different idea in mind?

It's not so much using the same engine I would have an issue with but the claim they would re-use models. We don't need them to start remaking every Zelda game with BOTW assets. Windwaker doesn't even really need another remaster/remake, just put WWHD on switch.

It just wouldn't work having games made in Ocarina of Time style done in BOTW style. That's worse than when Resident Evil 2 was remade in the style of Resident Evil 6.

I want to apologize for my earlier post. I'm still strongly opposed to this whole gray area of emulation, but I should get off my high horse and mind my own business. And I shouldn't add more negative vibes to an already negative world. Lesson learned.

I appreciate what you do for the community, firebush :)
