I'd prefer a Zelda fighting game similar to Soul Calibur.

To maybe add some extra context to Aonuma’s comment here: He said the same thing about Hyrule Warriors OG influencing BotW. Chances are it’s in reference to a smaller mechanic in the game…

Cutscenes were the big thing from HW that made influenced Aonuma in BotW, from what I’m aware. Combat could also be refined to, say, have more than one attack per weapon: that’d be a neat development to implement.

So like how Tears of The Kingdom has more than one character fighting alongside Link starting with the first temple cleared?

Games that a Switch 2 version would be worth looking onto.

Diablo 2 and 4 - D2 is already massive fun especially on the go mouse support needs to be taken advantage of, D4 has come a long way from it's troubled start a NSW2 version will join what D2 started.

The Witcher 3 - TW3 is a great game, the NSW port is probably the porting achievement of the decade and that's saying something considering how well the likes of Doom was executed. As impressive as that port was I feel a NSW2 version that is more on parity with other versions has to happen especially if CDPR want to increase presence on the platform further after a great start with CB2077.

Doom/Doom Eternal - For some reason I feel this is already on the cards or possibly Dark Ages may be on the way.

The Division 2 - Probably a controversial view but the local mp capabilities of the NSW2 could give this game a boost.

Metro Games - Good games in their respect.

Minecraft - Very likely already in the works, speaks for itself.

I just had a crazy thought: Playing Smash Bros Ultimate online today would be like playing Smash Bros 4 online in January 2022. Or Smash Bros Brawl online in early 2016—nearly two years after Nintendo WiFi servers were taken down.

Speaking of which, I wonder how long Nintendo plans to support NS1 online functionality before hosting everything on NS2. It has already been nearly 9 years since launch after all… Wii U lasted 10.5y, 3DS lasted 13y, and Wii lasted 7.5y. My guess is at least another decade, seeing how PS4 is still holding up.

Yeah I would guess between the sheer number of people who have a Switch 1 and the expectation nowadays that these things will be supported long term, that it stays up for a long, long time.
