Started my Metroid Prime 4 playthrough. Took a good 5-10 min. to get the camera controls and the mouse sensitivity just right but I finally got close enough to that sweet spot.

Can't commend the devs enough for making the switch from mouse control to dual sticks almost seamless during the gameplay sections. Incredibly responsive !

So, I'm actually at the first saving station you find in Fury Green and have encountered the FABLED Miles Mackenzie.
I guess they wanted him to be a diagetic solution for an in-game tutorial/hint system but the puzzles in that section are telegraphed enough that I don't think he's necessary to be there ... But I guess it's not awful in itself if you're completely new to the genre or the series.

Anywoo, the zone introduction and the art/graphics etc are immaculate ! Lavishly gorgeous to imagine this was at first a Switch title. The HDR, resolution boost and smooth fps makes the gameplay experience go without an itch.

Soundtrack wise, I love the choir and ambiance of the tracks this far. Looots of care put into that.

Can't wait to continue the adventure later tonight !

I doubt someone will care about some old indie game. But since update notes don't mention this I'll say it: the most recent Switch 2 system update has fixed The Talos Principle, which funnily enough was rendered unplayable by the previous Switch 2 system update (you couldn't see anything).

Does the update, enables some kind of "Switch 2 Edition" of sort ?

I don't think so. But I'll check and report back ^^

Edit: Nope, still shows as a Nintendo Switch program and the initial loading logo says as much.

Dangit.

I just hav to cross my fingers the devs will want to port the sequel onto the Switch 2 instead I guess.

What's the scariest part of Prime 4 so far? It's Metroid, so nightmarish creatures are mandatory.

Effectively X was intended to be a full on world with multiple large open world continents and a region in orbit.

Well there was that small section in Fury Green where you follow a sliding insect in the "dark woods". The shifting music track with all the dangerous wildlife noises made me think we were gonna have an encounter but they actually held back there.

Good bit honestly 👍

So far, Nintendo is 1-for-1 in all categories they’ve been nominated in (at TGA). DKBananza took home Best Family Game! Love to see it. :)

Let’s see if MKWorld can beat Sonic Racing Crossworlds for Best Racing. I will be severely disappointed if MKWorld actually loses to Sonic, MarioKart has been treated so wrongly this whole year.

Eh, doesn't sound as scary as Ridley, Dark Samus, or being chased by the E.M.M.I.

Special mention goes to Nightmare, the boss from Metroid Fusion that lived up to it's name.

Best Family Game still sounds insulting. It's like they're saying "Family games are all Nintendo is good at.".

Nintendo won all the awards they were nominated for! (Well… excluding the Overall Game of the Year. That’s obviously going to E33.) Big win for DKBananza and MKWorld!!!
