I buy whatever physical games I can.

Switch 2 moved 10m in four months while Switch 1 is only 10k behind the DS, tbh has probably overtaken the DS at this point as these number are by the end of September.

Reviews for Age of Imprisonment are in… and it’s doing about as well as all the other Hyrule Warrior games. (HW:DE [78MC], HW:AoC [78MC], HW:AoI [78MC].) Not much to say here.
Also, apparently reviews are not allowed to talk on the story of the game until launch? Which kinda stings esp since that’s the only thing I was curious about: everyone knows what to expect from the gameplay loop.

Possibly a risky purchase (given their current condition) maybe Platinum Games. I would love them to buy Game Freak and get some quality control on the Pokemon franchise but I wouldn’t be surprise if somehow they legally can’t.

I hope they acquire MercurySteam, assuming MercurySteam is good at genres besides 2D Merroidvania.

It's gonna be level 5 or Grezzo that get bought. I can't see them even looking at say Sega or ubisoft. Sega has to many non gaming divisions and ubi has a whole host of other issues

PG are the obvious targets tbh as they've been in collaboration with Nintendo since the Wii, they make a type of game Nintendo doesn't have an in house equivalent for as well as utilize a gameplay/mechanics first approach, it may be nothing but Astral Chain had Nintendo staff actively working on it with three of the lead design team being Nintendo employees. Often such a move is to nurture talent that specializes in that field I can see PG just being acquired or a Retro Studios like scenario where some PG staff leave to form a first party studio (Original members of Retro were originally the Turok Team aka Iguana).
