Forums - Nintendo - I think SNESSuper Famicom Mini is a rip off. Why I suggest not buying.

In country's like Australia you are legally entitled to make copies of your games.

Really? No wonder they jack up prices there to an extreme degree.

A big wonder actually, when illigal products are widely available the best way to fight it is to offer decent-priced easy to access legal alternatives.

Milions are subscribed to netflix while they used to download series and others buy and play games trough steam while they used to pirate games.

That's not a real excuse. You still have to buy a copy first.

Allot of companies, especially video games... They tend to charge the maximum the market will handle.
Australia having a high minimum wage ($17.70 an hour) and average wage... Doesn't help the situation.

And the reason why the pricing disparity became such a massive issue was the Australian Dollar was almost 40% higher than the American during the GFC. But prices on video games didn't change a single bit... Compounded by the fact that the internet made pricing so easy to compare between countries.

Now that our dollar is worth almost 25% less, it's not as much of a problem.

If you had to buy the games separately on cartridge format it would be a lot more expensive...

I checked the link, yet it did not really address the questionof whether emulation was theft or not. You're committing the logical fallacy of an appeal to authority, implying that a well established institution backs your side without any proof of such.

PS: I don't believe you. Not about the co-workers thing that seems utterly legit. I just don't believe that you are using your brain.

Now we're equating emulation to theft? Huh. That's a new one.

I'm not appealing to authority. I'm not asking you to take my word on it. The court has ruled that copyright infringement is not stealing. I have linked to that twice above, and I don't care to do so again. You're just ignoring the evidence I provided because you don't like it.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Yes, the name of the act was created to give it a nice sounding acronym. If you read the act, it doesn't actually state anywhere in the act that copyright infringement is in fact theft.

It says so in the title.

Not all theft is burglary, you can steal other people's rights, ideas, and content too.

Do people actually read what I write? Or do they just pretend I don't address things I actually do.

You can always emulate those games, buy a control and play it on your PC but... Saying that a piece of hardware plus 21 games is a ripoff, I don't agree. IT's a collectors thing and also one that's worth the price, you can compare it to the Sega collection (Which was only a game not a whole console) but this one also gives you the oportunity to play SF 2 without having to import that shit.

I say It's worth it, will I be buying it? Nah, I'm not that interested in SNES games, I keep playing them on my computer from time to time so buying that would be a waste of money FOR ME

I'm not buying it simply because of how Nintendo handled the NES mini.
