Theres nothing needed to change about the lite, small eneough, light eneough, etc. So i think that they will release different colours designs etc that will most probably be limited edition. I supose more battery life wouldnt hurt aswell.

If there is a redesign, it will be Japan-only. The DS Lite is reaching its saturation point in Japan, and Nintendo needs something new in the handheld arena to sell there. Conversely, the Lite is still selling like hotcakes in the States and Europe.
"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

I would expect it this year, maybe only in Japan, as others have said, around the time of DQ IX
I expect thinner (of course), flash memory for those demos peope have talked about, what I would like to see is some sort of emulation for VC games, if that is possible, and a wider top screen for videos
I'd like to see the DS get slightly larger screens, a better d-pad and buttons, OLED screens and a longer battery life.
I don't see myself upgrading from the DS Lite though, it's good enough already.
Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

Larger screens would wreck it, it would cause pixelation on the "older" games.
^Not if the older games still played at their native size.
I can't see it happening. The DS is still selling so well there's just no need. All it would achieve is angering existing customers, especially if it could actually do things the DS and DS Lite can't rather than just being smaller/thinner/lighter/better battery life, etc. I'm sure they're working on the DS's replacement but I can't see it coming out this year.

I do think Nintendo is worried aobut saturation in Japan. I feel that many Japanease are taking up the psps now because they already have a ds and want more handheld action.
On the flip side I think there is very little they can do to make it more attractive feature wise. I predict a Jaapn only price drop, new colors and usual junk around DQ IX. Then next spring we will get our first look at the DS2 which will hit Japan 2009 X-Mas.
And I too hope that is has GC+ level power.
Final* Word on Game Delays:
The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.
Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.
Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.
*naznatips is exempt
Hope they do make a redesign this year, maybe an announcement this E3?
One thing they could fix is to make the DS lite a little bigger, cause the current DS lite can hurt if played for a long time and maybe some new features, like being able to play VC games on the DS by using the SD card someway, and Maybe they might add some non gaming functions like a planner or something
They can't get rid of the GBA slot though.
How would you play Guitar Hero?
I think that they'll just slim it down tons.
Nah. I bet it'll remain the same until DS2 or [insert next gameboy name] comes out in 2009/2010 ish.
