Arms looks so bad. This weird (in a very bad way) game will never be played on my Switch. Gimme Punch Out Nintendo. Now!!!!

100k opening is actually pretty good for fighting game in Japan, espacial on instal base of 1m, basically 10% of Switch owners bought game at launch. I dont see how that can be bad in any case.

Interesting info, ARMS only needed to sell 74 more units to beat the combined opening for SFV and TK7's first week. But apparently ARMS has also strong digital sales so probably outsold combine SFV and TK7 in 1st week.

Do you know the digital to physical ratio?

No, but it's probably good because:

1) for digital only Switch users, buying digitally from Japan is cheapest and you get the game early. A lot of people did this for ARMS.
2) ARMS on Amazon included a discount code for Splatoon 2 if you bought there and it charted pretty high.

Edit.

With eShop sales probably around 130k.

That seems kind of poor for Switch. I know stock issues and all that, but wasn't that also the case during MK week? IIRC Switch did much better that week.

Yes there were stock issues during MK8D week also, but Nintendo after that had much less stocks that could ship. Of Course it did much better that week when Nintendo had much biggers stocks that could ship.

Thank you. Around 30k digital is pretty good.

ARMS is already ahead of Tekken 7. That's pretty amazing for a new IP up against such a long-running series.

Seriously, why the gap? :o

EDIT: I just saw the post about download cards. But still, the numbers for Switch!

Whether or not download cards are included doesn't mean you can just subtract the totals. They're two different trackers that vary from each other all the time without a "reason" to justify. Also, for the surprised people, there are bigger differences between the two trackers in the top 20 that aren't ARMs.

ARMs could certainly have done very well digitally, but don't use Famitsu's FW numbers as proof of that. They'll put out digital sales for June in July.

Recent Switch sales make me question if Nintendo's production capacities even reach the 750k units per month that I expected. Either it's closer to 600k per month or they are putting units on the side to have a higher stream of consistent supply beginning with the launch of Splatoon 2.

At the current sales rate, it doesn't seem like Switch shipments will reach 5m by the end of June.

All numbers in this post apply to worldwide sales.

I'm a little worried at this point as well. Doesn't seem like they are shipping more than 150k WW per week. At this rate, the Switch will be continuously outsold by consoles with far less demand.

If they can't move 6-7 million before Odyssey comes out they are really killing off sales that should have been a lock, not to mention eliminating absolutely all impulse buys.

So you can download your switch there, too? A 12k difference for the console is just a huge gap

Decent opening for arms. Switch stock supply disappoints though.

Ps4 up from 19k to 24k post MHW announcement. Coincidence?

YS8, minecraft vita and ps4, gta V and Nier all displaying excellent legs.

I was going to ask about the PS4 hw bump

Does the E3 affect japanese sales? If so, that's a good sign for Monster Hunter World
