Forums - Nintendo - MS + Valve should use Switch to go portable (with cross platform play).

With the lack of FPS support from EA and Activision, what better opportunity is there for growth, brand awareness and increased XBL/Steam users than to put some of the best FPS ever made onto Switch?

Halo, Team Fortress 2, Counterstrike, Portal, Left 4 Dead are all games that have likely hit their limit on the platforms they're currently on and their portability is limited to laptops. Adding more portability and/or splitscreen would be a great way to get more sales, increase the player base and offer a much simpler LAN gaming setup than the current method.

It's a win-win for everybody.

Halo DS almost happened. there was a tech demo of it, maybe one day we can hope that will happen but for now MS has to worry about getting games on their own platform first.

Although the Switch would basically be an open door into Japan for them to sell some of their IP's I mean you can see just how popular Minecraft sells on the Vita and Switch in Japan, that just wouldn't happen if the game was only on the Xbox brand systems there.

Valve seems content now making money off of Steam, instead of releasing their games elsewhere. I also don't really see MS doing it, unless they exit the console market.

Doesn't Valve still make a ton off DLC?

I didn't mean the latest Halo, I meant an older title(s). Sony can't have them because that would be helping the competition. MS can use the excuse that it's exclusive to MS and portable consoles. We could invent a new kind of 'exclusive'.

Can Halo 5 even run on the switch? But i would like to see MS and Valve putting games on the switch but i dont think that will happen.

I guess they do, but I'm not sure if they'd be willing to put the effort in for a Switch port.

Not sure how a shooter would feel on Switch.

I'm honestly surprised that no one has tried to partner with valve yet. The switch could easily run basically all of the big valve shooters so some kind of deal like half life, portal, left 4 dead ECT on the switch for galaxy 1&2 and a couple of Zelda's could be big

Or... get this... if Valve/MS wanted their games to be playable on handhelds..... they could make their own! In fact, isn't the Switch based closely off of the nVidia shield? What does MS/Valve need Nintendo for?

I don't know what's funnier. The idea of MS/Valve trying to compete with Nintendo at handhelds or comparing Switch to the Nvidia Shield.

Half Life 2 is on the Shield isn't it? Wonder how well that did.
