Forums - Gaming - Ubisoft should be lauded for all the new IPs

Thank you Ubisoft.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

I completely agree with you OP. Ubisoft is the best of the major big Multiplat publishers in league with activision and EA. At least for my needs. Rainbow 6 siege offers a tactical formula unlike any modern equivalent on console. I cannot stop craving to jump in on the division and go rogue on the server. I even picked up Rayman legends on a nostalgia kick (OG ps1 Rayman style) and have slowly delved into the world of far cry primal. Ubisoft is most definitely underrated for how they are spoken of on Internet forums.

They had the best e3 showing imo

The ubi hate should continue to decrease......

Pocky Lover Boy!

I m glad ubisoft finnally gets the recognition they deserve. I've been repeating that they deserve praise for the last 15 years.

Ubisoft is a great publisher since the start of the 128bit era. When they introduce 3 great games Prince of persia sands of time, beyond good and evil, and XIII. And not long after that Splinter Cell and Rayman 3.

They have a lot of problems too, they're far from perfect. But they sure helped the industry move forward.

Yeah easily one of the best developers out there. Much more consistent and reliable then other company's.

Most active 3rd party this gen, new AAA IPs:

-The Division

-Watch Dogs

-For Honor

-The Crew

-Steep

-Skulls n Bones

-Zombi

And continue putting out big games with known names:

-AssCreed

-Far Cry

-Rainbow Six Siege

-South Park

Then they do passion projects like Mario+Rabbids and Beyond Good and Evil 2. The only thing missing now is Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell, both I'm sure will sooner or later surface again, as will a new Rayman if they get to stay independent.

Seriously not appreciated for how many diverse games they released this gen. They're much better than the other two, EA is basically sports and shooties, Activision is CoD and Destiny. Both of these companies ran their properties into the ground like Mass Effect, Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero, not so Ubisoft. They're comfortable delaying and skipping a year to make quality games.

So yeah, Ubisoft ftw!

Well, technically Zombi isn't a new IP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bua3ZBwqJPk

But yes, basically you're right, Ubisoft did not not too bad the past years.

10 years greatest game event!

bets: [peak year] [+], [1], [2], [3], [4]

Ubisoft does make a lot of new IPs and innovate, but the "Ubisoft Formula" is still a thing to a certain extent.

With the Downgrades, uDontPlay, Microtransactions... Excessive DRM, Can't say I am all that fond of Ubisoft, especially from a PC gamers perspective.

I haven't actually rushed out and bought a Ubisoft game in years. I would say EA is a better company than Ubisoft at this point.

Are they smashing games out at the moment? Sure have. But it seems that is coming to an end.
And I quote:

"Guillemot added during the call that Ubisoft won't release as many new IP going forward and will instead focus on growing its existing brands."

Zombi isn't a new IP, it's their oldest. They can be lauded for output, but cranking out new IP's doesn't relate to quality. Ubisoft makes as much good games as they make "eh" ones.
