With E3 showcases now over I think its safe to save that Xbox sales will not be pretty. A lack killer excsluvies, lack of marketing from the biggest third party AAA games like Destiny 2, CoD WW2, and Battlefront and the high price point of the Xbox One X I don't see how the Xbox One can outsell either its competitors. In fact here are my predictions for the best selling system of the year starting with the summer
June, July and August: The Switch with the E3 hype and the release ARMS, Splatoon 2, and Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle to help keep the momentum going from launch will probably be the winner all summer long.
September: Now this is where things get interesting with the release of Destiny 2 and of the course the industry game changer Knack 2 I predict the PS4 will win September. Thanks to Sony getting the marketing for the game and likely having console bundles.
October: Before today I was gonna give to the PS4 but with the release day of Mario Odyssey being October 27th I think its safe to say that Nintendo will win this month.
November: Call Of Duty and Battlefront marketing will the key role in getting the PS4 first place here. While black friday bundles that could include (insert first party Switch game you think fits best here) and hype from Odyssey from releasing late October will give the second place. But due to the high price point of the Xbox One X its gonna be a tough sale. Though I can see the Xbox One S doing well its a temporary price cut to 150 during this time.
December: the PS4 will win this month thanks hype from the Last Jedi and Sony getting the marketing rights to Star Wars Battlefront 2 as well as their ads for CoD and Destiny.
I don't see what Microsoft can do to get even get second. While they do the marketing deals for Shadow Of War and Assassin's Creed the fact they release the same and in AC's case the same day as Mario won't really help.
