Is it wrong that I feel attachted to my SNES because it brought me into gaming and I still enjoy playing it?

Do you think it's wrong to feel attached to games/consoles?

T_T Could someone move this to the gaming discussion please?

The first console I ever played was technically the Atari 2600, though I never really cared about it much. The NES, on the other hand, dominated my childhood, even if it held technical status as the second system I played. Ultimately, though, the PlayStation had a more significant impact than either on me, as it brought me back to consoles after having put them behind me for roughly a decade. That said, it was still a pretty limited impact, and the PS2 ended up having more to do with my getting back into console gaming at large (23 of my 25 PS1 games are RPGs; I had no real diversity of games back then).

It's not really wrong, per se, to like a system just because it was what brought you into gaming. There's a certain nostalgia factor involved that makes it more or less assured that, whichever system you had the best experience with first, you'll be greatly attached to it. I only really see that as a problem when you start to judge other systems solely on how they stack up to your memories of that favorite system, without even giving the games a fair chance or comparing the games based on here-and-now experience for that favorite system.

my first glimpse of gaming - addicted ever since

SNES and Genesis was the first consoles I've owned, I had it over many years now until both broke and I lost all the games for it, Im trying to regain all the games I had from the snes and genesis days from the VC, but its a big task because I must have owned over 50 games during that time

Its not wrong to feel attahed. I myself feel attahed to my N64, it introduced me to gaming and i still have fond memoeries of goldeneye, ocarina of time, f-zero. It was important because I may not have ended up on VGChartz with you lovely people.

My first console was the NES but the first thing I actually played games on was the PCJr.

I remember playing awesome games like Jumpman, Shamus, King's Quest, Zork, and many other awesome games.

First console ever for me was the gamecube. i loved the fun games, and i kinda wish my mom didn't make me give to some kid for his birthday and sell all the games because i would probably still be playing a few of the those games. Oh well, my ps3 can make up for it and if i get wii, that can play gamecube games so it all works out
=)

My first console was the Nintendo 64 with Super Mario 64. Thanks to this system, my video game addiction began, making me into the gamer I am today.

Currently Playing: Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Super Smash Bros for Wii U

Predictions:

Super Mario Galaxy will pass Super Mario 64 in total sales CORRECT!
