Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - Official Game Trailer - Nintendo E3 2017

He explained why he uses Xeno in the name of his games on stream, the word represents the differences in the world whether people, elements etc... and the types of drama that can arise from that. He takes that and puts it in his games to create an experience using different concepts.

It doesn't need to resemble Xenogears in any manner because that's not what he's aiming for clearly if that were the case all the games would resemble Xenogears.

Seriously, it just seems odd and out of place since she's skinny

Stop genetics-shaming.

Again, treehouse footage looks fantastic. I'm also really liking how they seem to be focusing on story. While X was great (best RPG battle system ever?), it was pretty much all about the gameplay and world, while the story was really lacking. Glad they are following in the footsteps of the original.

Treehouse gameplay looked fantastic. While people are ranting about graphics (XCX all over again, though I still this games looks way better just because character design and art style alone, but hey...), I think that the changes to the gameplay are great. Instead of getting lots of arts in one row, which was sometimes a bit slow to get through them, now we can access to any arts with just two buttons. Also combos are improved. And I still feel that the scale and scope is great. And this was all in... 2 years. This is totally awesome.

The environments look beautiful and the music is amazing. This game will be epic.

But I don't like the design of the red-haired girl. The design of the male protagonist doesn't bother me and the other characters don't look that bad from the little we could see of them.

Super hyped for this :D

Edit: want to point out that I've only seen the trailer and not the treehouse demonstration (yet).

Why does a next gen Xenoblade look worse than the previous one?

I think it might've started out as a 3DS game, the character art is reminiscent of 3DS style rpg's. Looks really low budget.

That voice acting is pure gold. A throwback to the PS1 gen.

Funny how history repeats itself:

Xenogears = Xenoblade (excellent RPG)
Xenosaga = XCX (not quite as good as the first)
Xenosaga 2 = Xenoblade 2 (mediocre, with weird artstyles considering expectations)
Xenosaga 3 = Xenoblade 3? (Redeeming, but too little too late)

A bit early to write off the game as mediocre, don't you think?

If you look beyond the characters (and let's just be real, the faces specifically), the game as numerous technical advances over XCX and doesn't in any way look like a game that started out on the 3DS (literally impossible and a laughable notion) nor does it look low budget.  Dis the characters if you want, I get the style isn't everyone's cup of tea.  But don't make ignorant, objectively false statements based on that.

Gonna hype your brain up

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
