Yeah mapping the arts to the four faces buttons looked like it'll be a big improvement over paging through a list of icons.

I have to disagree as far as art direction goes, I prefer the style of both the world and the characters of XCX over XB2 personally. Having said that, the former could change once we see new environments.

Art style is a matter of tastes in the end, so I can't argue with the way you see things :P. And, yeah, I think it's wise to wait how other Titans' environment will look like to make a definitive opinion about the art style. What they showed felt like a classic first Xenoblade area. But I loved seeing the Titan moving in the background. That sold it for me.

Yeah pretty much all the footage so far seems to show two Titans; one grassy, the other snowy. I might have missed it, did they ever say how many Titans there were? I doubt they would be just the two different environments, given the franchise's history of varied worlds.

There's at least 4 or 5.  They mentioned a water focused one and we saw a grass one, one with a more alien combination of forest and grass, a snowy one, and I do believe that more technologically advanced stuff is on a different Titan from all these others based on the architecture seen in those Titans I listed, unless it is on the water one.  Also, we see the Titan in the tree house, plus a Whale and another Titan in the menu background, plus they mentioned a humanoid one.  So 4 or 5 at the very least, quite possibly more.

4 or 5 works for me as long as they're varied. XCX with its 5 continents never felt lacking in diversity, not to me anyway.

She typcially weighs 125-130.  And she's a highly educated professional.  The fact that you think a woman can't have large breasts and depth of character is a pathetic statement about you, not the women or any game developer who gives his artwork strong female features.

When did I... wait what?  How are we talking about depth of character now?  Your wife has huge tits, I didn't say anything about her intelligence.  The fuck are you on about?

We're not talking about my wife. You've gone off on this thread with your disapproval that the designers made the female lead a bimbo with big tits. Your attitude that a woman with large breasts is a bimbo is pathetic and sexist.

The first (and in many ways best) game in the meta-series has this art style

So....

Really? Because there was a huge uproar for the artstyle used in XCX. They called it fugly.

Those are the same sorts of people who complain about Dragon Quest for using Akira Toriyama art. Even though it is essentially part of the series DNA.

Fans of the Xeno games want Kunihiko Tanaka art. It's part of the Xeno DNA.

First off, core Xenoblade is only very loosely spiritually tied to the other Xenos.  Note the first didn't have that looke either.  XCX is a closer cousin intentionally, hence the intentional visual parallels.

Second, the words you are looking for are character design.  Art style and character design are not interchangeable.  This has distinctly different character design from Xenoblade 1, but the *overall* aesthetic is very, very similar.
