Microsoft did it. They named an exclusive that they would push out into the heart of 4th quarter. We saw what happened to Titanfall and so many other games last year. I know its will be a launch title for the XOX .....but even the XOX can't save it from COD or Battlefront.  Do you think Microsoft should push back release date of Crackdown on the XOX or should they have done the sensible thing and give it a XOX release of September?

its releasing between battlefront and CoD? good luck. it doesnt look interesting really and MS hasnt been handling the marketing of this game well. i doubt it will do well.

It wouldn't sell a single copy more if it launched at any other point in time.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

It'll flop miserably, most likely. This is one of the few actual first party games they had at E3, that they had previously been talking about as this big time thing, and now they barely even pushed it at all. I mean Sea of Thieves, which isn't even coming out this year got like 4x the screen time that Crackdown did, which they're launching alongside the Xbox One X. What does that tell you? It tells me, that the game is probably gonna be shit, and they just wanna get it out the door and wash their hands of it. Then when it gets bad reviews, and sells fuck all, they'll use it as another excuse to say that making new games is a waste of time.

Crackdowns always been fairly niche. Think most people will pass on this game.

I'm happy about it. If it gets destroyed that means it'll be discounted shortly after Christmas. It's a win for me since I won't pay full price for Win10 games.

it would have to be a 90+ metacritic game to be successful in that window. MS need to follow Sony's strategy of not releasing anything in October and November unless it is a huge franchise like Halo or Gears.

and based on the trailer yesterday, I think the game will struggle to hit 80 meta, let alone 90

I don't think it matters when they launch it tbh, Xbox exclusives tend to have a hard time no matter when. Just look at Quantum Break or Halo Wars 2, they launched early in the year and did terribly.

If it's not Halo(not wars), Forza or Gears it probably won't do well. But maybe Crackdown will beat the odds.

different games for different gamers. Crackdown will sell to those who dont like FPS games. I see no harm in selling it next to CoD and BF

The bigger issue is that it looked bad.
