Because the Wii actually has an analog stick, and enough buttons to make it work. I would suppose you'd move with the analog stick, control the camera with the D-Pad on the Wii-mote, you would use the 1 and 2 buttons to scroll through your items, and use C to activate them, Z to center the camera behind you, and A and B, and whatever motion controls are tacked on to attack, I suppose that how it could work, and that doesn't seem too hard.

With the DS, you can only use either the D-Pad and the Touch screen, or the touch screen and the Face buttons [or the D-pad and the face buttons], which would only mean that you would only be able to move, and you'd have no way to manipulate the camera, which would be EXTREMELY awkward.

What about the shoulder buttons?

If your argument is because of controls I find it to be pretty weak to be honest.

Now if you had said it already works on the PSP and they are making money out of it so why should they change the forumla, that would've been a valid (and true in my opinion) argument.

Go and play the game on the PSP, then come back and tell me that the game could work on the DS.

TRUST ME...  Speaking as the only person who has sank over 100 hours into MHF and MHF2, this game WOULD NOT control on the DS.  It just wouldn't.  Period.  That's just being real.

If you played the game, you would know what I'm talking about.

And your argument is pretty weak.  So controls don't make a bad game?  Ask LAIR.

If someone, who has played the game extensively, can answer me this, then Capcom could put the game on the DS:

How in the hell would it control? My point was ignored so I'm' stating it again. It uses all the buttons on the PSP, and if there was only one button missing, the game wouldn't work. And I can't think of any way for them to make the game work, even using the touch screen, unless the game was dumbed-down a lot.

Also, another question: Who in this thread has played the game? For at least three to five hours?

I've extensively played both games but have stopped at the ultra hard missions that are just a pain in the ass to play in singleplayer.

I'm with you there, though. The DS simply couldn't handle a game like this. The vast environments, the sheer amount of content, etc.

OK, fair enough.
I find it strange to think that the DS with a touchpad has control problems (technically you could put all the buttons you want in the screen) but if you say that it changes the experience that much, I am sure you know what you are talking about.

I would think that this does not make sense (PSP to DS) because it already sells so well on the PSP and it is hard to justify a shift.

I love how people can argue about control scheme of a game that he/she NEVER even played before.

Frankly, I don't see a point to argue something that won't happen. Ever, Unless people are willing to bet it does. If that is the case, I'm more than happy to come up with a bet.

Yawn, all I read here is blind fanboyism. Like all games have had the same control scheme all the time. You really should try to introduce some logic in your discussions.

no i think it will remain on psp

Soriku, you think capcom is going to leave massive sales on the psp to create a DS version of the 3rd game?

After both sequels have been exclusive to the psp, and have seen amazing sales in japan, I doubt they'll create it for the DS, it would be multiplatform likely.

Leo-J, you think Square-Enix is going to leave massive sales on the PS2 to create a DS version of the 9th game of Dragon Quest?

After both Monster Hunter 1 and 2 have been exclusive to the PS2, and have seen amazing sales in Japan, I doubt they'll creat if for the Wii. Oh wait....

---------------------

I see the SDF here in full force to enact rumor damage control. I mean seriously people, you would have said DQ9 couldn't have been done on the DS in controls either but it is. Clover said Okami couldn't be done on the Wii due to controls, but surprise surprise, Okami Wii here we come. Guess you'll just have learn the hard way this generation.

P.S. Anyone else notice that DmeisterJ didn't emerge as a prominent member on this forum until Leo-J was banned for an extended period of time and that both have the suffix of "J" at the end of their names? Just a quirky observation. I'm sure it means nothing.

If it did come to the DS it would still be on PSP.

Sony would have to pay out some major cash to keep it PSP exclusive in my opinion, but who knows.

Amazing sales on PS2??? What amazing sales? Am I missing something here?

For people who argue about camera controls, can't you have the game similar to fps' on wii. You move with the d-pad, then you move the camera with the touch screen. I never played the games though so I don't know how your battle elements would work unless they use the touch screens. I just wanted to get that out there.

I for one wouldn't want it to go to ds. Maybe ds2 if that is the market leader next gen still. But the regular ds no. That would be a different experience. Maybe a new spin off would be good for the ds, but not the psps.
