It's a racing game.  In terms of scalability, it's just below fighters and right above linear shooters.  It could handle it if they put in the work to optimize.  They just couldn't be assed.

Not that it matters to me, Slightly Mad is on my permanent boycott list.

Definitely not. The game basically never runs at 60FPS and goes as low as 30FPS with decent amount of cars and rainy weather.

Unless you're talking about an extremely butchered port without rain, 10 cars and a 30FPS limit. Might be possible at 720p in docked mode. WiiU and the other last gen consoles were definitely impossible.

Huh, didn't realize they were that incompetent with basic optimization.

And I know Wii U likely would have been near impossible.  So did they.  From day one.  But they basically committed fraud, lying about the Wii U version to get press and stir up investment.  And then canceling it the moment a big publisher picked them up and publicly insulted the Wii U userbase.  That's what I hate and what cemented them in my mind as the most unethical pseudo-indie dev outside Steam Greenlight and why I will never purchase a product by them, even if it gets perfect 10s and comes with a free coupon for a lifetime supply of the world's finest cheesecake. I truly wish them all the worst.

I agree they shouldn't have said anything about the Wii U userbase. They should just have said Nintendo your Wii U is an outdated piece of crap and we give up developing for that thing all together. We tought we could make a profitable project cars port but it  just isn't possible to make this racing sim work on a console with such outdated hardware compared to the Xone.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Except they didn't give up. They never began work. I firmly believe and circumstantial evidence overwhelmingly supports my stance that no Wii U version ever existed. It was a myth concocted to get media attention they otherwise never would have gotten in the shadow of the other racing big shots.

Permanent boycott list because they didn't release the game for your system? That's weak, man.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

Well due to console version having framerate issues they lowered the  max number of cars per race down to 16.

It's not about that.  Read my postscabove.  It's the conduct surrounding it.  I have a PS4 and PC, I have plenty of means to play the game.  It's the lies, the manipulation, the contempt.  It's the fact they hyped up the Wii U version for the entire development period prior to being picked up by Bandai Namco, using it to manipulate an entire userbase to be their hype men and gain press coverage they couldn't have hoped to get as well as secure more independent funding.  A version which, btw, despite being hyped never had a screenshot, a video, an off screen photo, a demo, nothing.  All evidence points to a Wii U version never existing in any form, it was a lie from day one to generate hype they couldn't get in direct competition with Forza and the like.  It was a ploy, a con, and when Bamco picked them up, they canceled the Wii au version the same day and publicly insulted the Wii U userbase, the one they had praised and made promises to and hyped up.  It was one of the most low, detestable things I've seen a professional developer do.  And that's the reason they are boycotted btw:  THEY did this.  Not their publisher forcing them, they did it.  They weren't unwilling partakers in this bullshit, they were the architects.  There are many games that failed to come to Wii U that I think should have and while it bothered me, I never got overy upsst.  But what Slightly Mad did was beyond that.  It was unethical, contemptuous, gross, and manipulative.

Rofl they lied to Nintendo fans again. Once PC skipped Wii U they said they would bring the series to NX. Man they lie hard. Even if I was interested in the game and do have a PS4 to buy it on I won't support such douchebag developers.

Surely they are being fair and honest this time. They've probably looked at the Switch spec and realised it wasn't possible so no Switch version. The original Project Cars just seemed to get more and more upgrades that made it impossible on weaker hardware. Their ambitions for the game went beyond the wii u spec. At least they have realised that this time around.

This is not a game for the Switch in fact the standard ps4 and xbone will probably struggle to deliver the same experience as pc.

Bought the original game but never really got the hang of it. It's a bit too realistic for me or alternatively I'm just rubbish at driving games.

I think I'll need a VR setup to really enjoy the game and feel immersed in the driving, that would probably make me persevere with learning the controls and handling.

Even though I only played the inferior X1 version and really wasn't that impressed with it if I had a PS4 I would buy it over GT Sports.
