My favorite was San Andreas.
My favorite is GTA San Andreas because of the setting, music, and gameplay.

I'm torn between GTA III and GTA Vice City.
GTA III was so impressive the first time I played it. I had never seen anything like it before. It was revolutionary.
Vice City improved on GTA III in many respects, and even had a better soundtrack.
I was almost bored of the series by the time San Andreas came around.
So my pick will be GTA: Vice City.

GTA vice city stories, san andreas was the wors tin my my opinion. I love psp GTA, best experience on a handheld.

GTA2 was on PSone, not PS2.
but on topic, my favourite was GTA Vice City, it was great. and to be honest i didn't like San Andreas.
It's really hard to choose between San Andreas and Vice City, I've played through both about 4 times. SA wins with regards to the game engine, the huge state, etc.
But VC is just so cool; the music, the atmosphere, the lights...I have to go for VC as my favourite. It was also the first GTA I played through too so that boosts it.

i was there when the original GTA's came out, and me and my buds absolutly loved playing them...funnest game of its time (Besides Duke3D)...
I remember when I first started hearing rumors about GTA3D, and peoples first thought was how much it would suck because GTA isn't a 3D game and there would be no way of maintaining all features/gameplay because it wouldn't be powerful enough to hold it all... and well, the game came out, and I have never been so amazed by a game. I was truley shocked how much they were able to put into the game! all in 3D! To this day I'm still amazed...
So Id say GTA3 was my favorite... 2nd would be Vice City, Rockstar just did an AWESOME job giving you the whole 80's theme, I even bought the 7CD Vice City Soundtrack! best CD Purchase I have ever made.
San Andreas was the first modern one I played (I had played GTA 1) and it blew me away in every aspect.
Vice City just sucks in my opinion.
San Andreas > GTA III > Vice City
I thought the original Grand Theft Auto was brilliant, and Grand Theft Auto 3 was the last one I really enjoyed ... This isn't to say that the newer games are bad, but more that the sandbox nature of the game that was once so amazing now seems like a tired gameplay dynamic.
