More power is soo important that even Switch is outselling XBox almost 5:1 last known week... ahah... I need a crying smiley here pls

It was sony's marketing all this years "POWER", and not for real power i have a PC, i'm pointing the hypocrisy a lot of guys here has, and for the NS i'm trying to get one but it's sold out.

LOL I guess you forgot who started POWAH talk.. Just a refresh do u remember cloud POWAH that MS claimed would make every xbox one 3 times more powerful... its not sony's fault that MS gave it userbase and inferior product at higher price than PS4 and tried to shove down an accessories who nobody asked for.. of course sony had to point out about the power difference when it was offered at $100 cheap. And not to mention Sony WWS and how they supported PS3 with exclusive up untill the release of PS4 and how MS ditched their 360 userbase at the end of the generation.

And by the time scorpio launches PS4 would have been on top of the power game for 4 years.. and How long do you think MS will have the throne?? at max 2 year. great enjoy your time at top MS :P

Even power wise, scorpio will be more held back than ps4 pro because the base model is weaker. Exclusives (if there will be any) won't look as good as ps4's unless microsoft ditches the original x1 completely which isn't happening.

Wrong MS tell us couple of days ago that xbone is not holding back Scorpio.

One console is up YOY YTD on NPD and the other is down YOY YTD on NPD. Guess which one has the larger library and greater variety of games.

One has a mid-gen refresh coming this year, the other already has that out. I'd say a lot of perspective XBox One buyers are likely waiting for Scorpio at this point so being down YoY is perfectly normal given the circumstance.

The Scorpio appeals to a very specific niche audience. The general public is not as aware of the Scorpio as the Xbox enthusiast crowd considering all we have about the Scorpio is a spec sheet. Here's a general idea of public awareness of the Scorpio from Nielsen:

Based on the results, it is unlikely that the Scorpio is having a negative effecton the XB1's sales currently. I would believe your claim if the E3 conference happened in March, but reality is that Microsoft's conference is not until June 11. As a result, the more logical reason why the XB1 is down YOY YTD on NPD is mainly because of the lack of compelling software.

Dear God, now Microsoft is Nintendo and Sony is Sega from the 90's...Nintendo's counterpart today...NEC XD

Really? Was Sega outselling Nintendo 3:1?

Uhhh...I mean in terms of the power wars back then.

Like the PS4 PRO is not hold back by the PS4. Of course it will be held back, especially third parties will see this as a good excuse to just bump up resolution. And Microsoft doesn't make to many games these days. In the end a game always has to run on both consoles and the weaker one will always limit the stronger one. I am sure if Horizon would be made specifically for PS4 pro it would look even better than it does now.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

http://twinfinite.net/2017/05/microsoft-wont-hold-back-scorpio-games-framerates-for-xbox-one-parity/

“Developers are free to choose how they use the power of Project Scorpio for games,” Corporate Vice President of Xbox Program Management Mike Ybarra tweeted over the weekend. “We have no requirements limiting framerate or fidelity.”

Aparently you ignore a lot of xbox threads here, and news, so there you have a link.

It's the most powerful console ever. Of course they're going to market it. Doesn't have to be a shot on Sony.

But isnt that like obvious? A console launched in 2019 will be even more powerful, same for another in 2021... shouldn't they be focused in offering something unique?

What great exclusives will they have? But real exclusives, not games I can buy and play on my PC...

Isn't it obvious the Pro was the most powerful console ever? Didn't stop Sony from marketing it.

Isn't the sales war over? Sony has won. Won't stop them from marketing their sales.

The Scorpio is powerful. lol, why would MS not market that?

So now power is not important? haha the hypocrisy is over 9000 hahahahahah

Power, price and games were always the points, not power alone.
PS3 had power beyond the 360, but didn't have price and took a while to get the games, and until then it underperformed a lot and left MS eat a lot of Sony's marketshare.
PlayStation was always about games, always, PS1 and PS2 were weaker than competition and thrived on games, exactly like PS3 did to climb back.

PS4 just had it all, thus why it was a non brainer since the moment it was announced.

That's not really true though. MS gained market share because they had a year long head start.  Since the PS3 launched the 360 only ever outsold it twice and one of those times was because the PS3 was on the market for like 6 weeks.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

How is MS marketing the power of the Scorpio shots fired at Sony? Power is what it has going for it, as it's also going to cost more than the lower-powered S. "True power" just sounds like typical marketing speak.
