At then beginning of the gen, yes. In the middle of the gen it's affordability and library. That's why all eyes are ok xbox at e3. Primarily the library and price of Scorpio.

Ì like the text font at the end of the teaser.
But agree, they can only really focus on power and hardware superiority over their competitors. But that is not enough. Exclusives are needed. They must know that right, someone at their headquaters must know that? So what will they present.
I predict that they will tease Halo 6 at E3 as their big surprise and showstopper. That should do it for many nonbelievers. Halo 5 came out in october 2015 and earned a massive 500 million $ in its first week. So it's time Halo 6 got announced, for release 2018.
Perhaps a new Age of Empires or a new Fable?

It was sony's marketing all this years "POWER", and not for real power i have a PC, i'm pointing the hypocrisy a lot of guys here has, and for the NS i'm trying to get one but it's sold out. |
Oh my god. Quit saying that. You've already been corrected, yet still you persist.

PS4 Pro pushed the power angle as well. Because its the logical thing to do.

Cute. Cut out most of my comment to try and make your own, completely irrelevant one. As i said in my previous comment, how else do they advertise it? Power is all they got because they lack the software quantity of the PS4. So they cant really push sosftware alone because Sony will do the same on a great scale. So naturally, they have to double down on power. ie. they have to do the obvious. No need for you to overstate what I already basically said. |
The rest of the post was just as obvious. Everyone knows ms doesn't have the first party power of either Sony or Nintendo. That aside, Sony still advertised the Ps4 pro as the most powerful console despite being in a strong place with first and second party games.
After the ad break on the news, water is..... Wet.

thismeintiel said: Exactly. Mocking others who said they could tell the difference between 720p/900p and 1080p. The fact is they are the hypocrites, as I have yet to see any PS gamer say that power doesn't matter, like they all claim. Nope, I see them saying power is great, but it isn't the only thing that matters. But, it seems many Xbox fans are quick to flip flop on the power thing. First, it mattered when the PS3 had worse multiplats. Then, it didn't matter when PS4 had better ones. Now, it matters again once the Scorpio comes out. I take it it won't matter in 2019/2020 when the PS5 comes out and and is 2x-3x the GPU power of the Scorpio, but with a much better CPU and RAM. To me, the Scorpio is shaping up to be the OG Xbox. A nice piece of HW, but with half the support of the PS2, it failed to sell very well. And just like the OG Xbox, I expect MS to abandon it really quickly if they are going to take another stab at console HW, since they are going to have to answer Sony's PS5 in less than a year of its launch if they don't want them to run away with the market, again. |
Dude, flip flopping happens on both sides. Power is suddenly less important to Sony fans while they eagerly await PS5 to take the power advantage.
The major hole is your argument is X1/Scropio already have great support that OG Xbox lacked. Japanese software has also become less relevant since the 6th gen.
I don't think PS5 will be as powerful as you anticipate. Especially if its gonna be $399. PS4 Pro was 3 years later and was a relatively minor upgrade. I would be impressed if PS5 is 2x the power of Scorpio, but my expectations are kinda low.

Less games? You know the XB1 has the 360 library behind it right? That alone is a huge library.
Wow. People here really don't like Xbox!
Anyway, I'm excited to see this power on display. Hopefully it's a noticeable improvement. Maybe even give us better VR experiences. At the very least, after four years of PlayStation dominance, Xbox will be my "go to" console when it comes to third party games, again.

That's not the reason Playstation has been more succesful, whether it's been more powerful or not. Variety sets them appart. |
Variety? So your saying the PS4 outsold the X1 at launch based off games like Knack and Killzone? So your going to say cheaper price tag and better performance had nothing to do with it?
Variety had nothing to do with it. Sony market there systems better. Thats all there is to it. They marker better than Nintendo and Xbox. Marketing is a powerful tool. If only the gaming industry understood this. Look at Destinys marketing cost, look up its sales than look at the games reviews. You can sell anything with good marketing.

Sure, but todays market is different, than when PS4 pro launched. There was'nt any 'power'-console on the market at that time.
Now that there is, the Scorpio cannot simply play on the power thing. That is not enough.
