So when Nintendo ported Yoshi's Woolly World and Mario Maker to the 3DS, they considered it the Wii U's successor?

Capcom also ported MHXX to Switch, so is Switch is like a home console and a handheld. Shocking right?

What? They took a franchise that consistently appears on both home consoles and portable consoles, and made a game for a home console? I am just shocked! Baffling!

Yeah, I had a feeling they'd announce the third versions/sequels to SuMo for 3DS only. The Stars on Switch rumors were so persistent I wanted to believe it, but it never seemed like something GF would do to me. I think the 8th gen will be on Switch of course, but they're going to need some time to figure out exactly how they're going to evolve the franchise for its debut on a home console. I don't think they wanted a port of a 3DS title to be the first impression of mainline Pokemon on a home console. My guess is we'll see the 8th gen titles debut on Switch in 2019, and probably not till late 2019.

On an aside, it is starting to get annoying we can't get a Pokemon Snap sequel on any of their home consoles after all these years. Maybe they will essentially incorporate that into the 8th gen games.

Tell me the time that Nintendo claimed that the 3DS was a home console, and you'd actually have an argument on your hands, wouldn't you?

Tell me about that time when you didn't used excuses every 2 posts.

Jesus you need to relax lol

You're going to burn him alive

Well, I guess I should not be surprised that the new Pokemon game is 3DS exclusive, given what happened with Black 2 and White 2.

isnt is funny that somebody cant seem to enter a Nintendo thread without talking about all the greedy/bizarre decisions they make?

Hey man, I'm not the one claiming that the Switch is a 3DS successor. You are.

The fact that they announced yet another home console port for the Switch and announced another mainline portable handheld series game for the 3DS is further evidence that your claim is incorrect.

I don't need the excuses here, I have evidence. You're the one trying to come up with excuses as to why Nintendo keeps contradicting obvious moves if your theory is still correct.

Weren't you adament like a year ago that a Nintendo system with multiple performance modes was never, ever going to happen because programmers would not be able to optimize their games (ditto for a PS4 Pro and Scorpio)?

yes, this is that guy

Hey zorg1000, please don't ever speak on my behalf ever again, thanks. I can take care of myself.

Nope. To clarify, that was in reference to the guy that was convinced there was going to be a NX home, and a NX handheld, and an NX tablet, and an NX phone? (I forget what the 4th hardware configuration was), and all of these wildly different skus that had multiple control configurations. In regards to the PS4 Pro,  I said that multiple performance modes within the same platform were a waste of time because third party developers are only going to support the lowest common denominator and the bare minimum to support the more advanced hardware. This has come true. Some developers are scrratching the surface but no one is actually taking the time to really take advantage of the hardware. This is becajuse it's an added expense that won't make a meangingful impact on sales. At all. As I said it would, the PS4 pro is nothing more than an annoyance to third party developers and the ones I've spoken to just see it as an annoyance that takes away from their finalling time. In every instance I've heard, they've said that PS4 pro support was added essentially after the rest of the game was done. I don't expect Scorpio is going to be anything different. I expect Sony and Microsoft will support these skus in first party titles as their "halo" products to show off what their platforms are capable of, and not much else unless they literally pay developers to add it.

nope, you said it wasnt possible to have different hardware configurations because consoles and PCs are designed differently but go ahead and pretend you didnt say it a couple dozen times.
