A few years ago, I figured that both Sony and MS would sell off their gaming brands at some point in the not-too-distant future. I figured gaming was a distraction for MS, and selling PS was an obvious way for a struggling Sony to raise cash and refocus. But, PS seems to have survived the initial Sony reshuffling, and MS is getting more and more into hardware with Surface, and is (once again) trying to bring Windows into every room of the house.
While it still wouldn't surprise me to hear either of them announce a sale of their gaming divisions, it no longer seems inevitable.
