I´m sure there are people who bought a Ps4 for games like Yakuza or wipeout, sure not system sellers like Cod, Destiny or SW but still a hundred sales here a hundred sales there will keep adding and here we are at >60m shipped.

No, that can easily be explained by those games having less reviews because they're not new. The more reviews, the lower the score, usually. Plus they're now portable, which makes them superior to the PS4 versions. Anyway, I was talking about Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It took PS4 years to get games like that. Nintendo already delivered in the first couple of months. Super Mario Odyssey will just be another big scorer for Nintendo this year. |
Switch games are getting reviewed on a different bell curve than PSOne games, because of the weaker hardware, similar to the standards of indie reviews. And no, having a portable version of a game, doesn't make the Switch version superior to the PS4 version, not even close, since these games still run better on PS4/Pro, & not everyone prefers to game on mobile.
You're talking about two last gen ports, lmao? Might as well just state Mario Odyssey.

Wrong. Super Mario 64 was delayed twice and the console it was on with it. But in the case of Odyssey, there were rumors floating around before the launch of Switch that the game is essentially done and already in the finetuning phase. I don't think there is a reason to worry about a delay. |
Should'nt Odyssey have come as a Switch launch game?
Also Galaxy 1 got delayed right?. Shoud have bee a Wii launch game.
And then there was the Super Mario 64 2, but that one got cancelled..
I really hope Odyssey will stick to the release schedule for this holiday. Yet I'm somehow offput by the integration of the urban setting in the game. The one were we see what looks like New York. I'm allways fond of a Mario game in a fantasy universe, but putting him in this new environment, is a bold move. But I guess it'll be fun anyways.

Of those games, I only think Uncharted TLL and GT Sports are AAA games. And yet the Uncharted TLL is a offspring game from the maingame line. But I guess Naughty Dog will make it a AAA.
But still none of those games are coming out this holiday. So what does the PS4 have in their market roadmap for the holidays, besides thirdparty games?
GT sports does not have a release date yet, it just officially says 2017. But we all know Polyphony Digital and their release cycles and delays..

It's not like Sony needs anything for Fall, they have the marketing deals and 249 price drop incoming, Sony has already win the exclusive war against Xbox long time ago and they will crush them this holidays 3:1.
The real war is vs Switch which has an incredible 2017 line up.

I agree, competitor focus for Sony is not on Xbox this holiday season, but on switch. Yet perhaps Microsoft can pull something exciting out of its hat for E3, for this holiday season.
And although I tend to agree, that Sony does'nt need any AAA games for the holidays, they will loose some console sales to competitors if not. Gamers move fast, and need to be kept busy. A nonbusy period with no AAA games, might lead them to other interests.

Odyssey was announced in January 2017 as a holiday 2017 title and Galaxy was announced in June 2006 as a 2007 title, so neither game was planned to be a launch title and neither game had an official delay. |
I remember reading the Iwata Asks for Super Mario Galaxy, and I remember it stating that Galaxy being planned originally as a launch title. However, the title was given more time to be developed internally, and this manifested itself in its announced release date.
So, the italicized isn't necessarily the case.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

They're currently running really close to those two years. - The Switch sells every unit that Nintendo can produce in the 2017 calendar year. - Nintendo hits their ramped up production target of 18 million units by March 31, 2017 - That of the 18 million units already sold, Nintendo will have sold 3.5 million by the end of April 2016, leaving 14.5 million units left to be produced. - Those 14.5 million units will be produced evenly month over month, meaning 1.2 million units will be produced and sold each month. That's ~10 million over the months from May through December. - 10 million + 13.5 million = 13.5 million units sold for the Switch in 2017 The PS4 outsells the Switch comfortably in 2017, driven by stronger PS4 sales over the October-December months. |
Won´t be that easy!
