yeah, sounded like I blamed the drop on E3, all I meant was that a live E3 would definitely be a better marketing than a trailers compilation... therefore help sales, maybe a little bit

I feel that not presenting theirselves at the E3 is like giving up to Sony and MS, they cannot compete so not appear at all, we knew Nintendo is on a different league but I don't like the idea of transforming the best part of E3 into a compilation of trailers, and I believe that it limits hype and marketing, definitely not helping sales

A live conference is better marketing based on what? Certainly not the sales as they only show whether you go live or digital is irrelevant. And ah yes, the insane leap of logic that is "Nintendo changed their presentation format = they're bailing out of E3!" Live conferences are also just trailer compilations. Most people don't even watch the event, just the trailers afterwards.

I like the digital trailer format Nintendo has done because it's generally more concise, less beating around the bush.

How much time has passed since the Miyamoto statement about Pikmin 4 near completion? Just show a trailer already! Hope they're taking that time to make this thing huge.

Here's the timeline

July 2015 - Miyamoto states Pikmin 4 is very close to completion

"It's actually very close to completion," Miyamoto said. "Pikmin teams are always working on the next one."

July 2016 - Miyamoto stated Pikmin was delayed for other priorities

"Yes, you are right, and we’re working on [Pikmin 4]. So, you know, when we’re in development we have to create a list of priorities and it has been hard to kind of fit that into that list, but we’re hopefully starting to see that on the list now."

Here are my thoughts: Miyamoto did the same thing with Pikmin 3. He stated it was happening at E3 2008, then we didn't see it until E3 2012 and then it released in 2013. Miyamoto did the same thing for Wii Sports Resort with golf. Miyamoto said it was going to be there in an interview, and the team had to add it. I expect Miyamoto was doing the same here. His second comment makes it sound as if it hasn't even entered development. My guess is that if it does exist, it was held off for a 2D Mario game which, IIRC, the same team does.

I don't know about you guys but I love watching the crowds cheer instead of game trailers.  Who would of thought a room packed full of a consoles fans would cheer for their company?

Aren't there lots of reaction videos from crowds on E3 watching Nintendo's presentations? I could recall seeing those the last two E3s.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Not sure I don't even really like E3 because it's just a big circle jerk.  I just watch gametrailers of games that I might be interested in a few days later.  The only thing I remember is they did a direct with the help of people at Robot Chicken one year.

I think that Pikmin 4 was Wii U games, but later (like few other unannounced Wii U games) they moved it to Switch. IMO there are good chances we will see Pikmin 4 at E3.

I don't think he was talking about Pikmin "4" at all, but rather Hey Pikmin or whatever that 3DS game is called.

Thanks!

Bold: Idk, it would be pretty contradictory with his first interview.

He precisely talks about the Pikmin team.

Hey! Pikmin isn't being developed by them
