I mean, I wouldn't exactly be happy if my $400-500 console wasn't the best

I'd think people are smart enough to skip a thread they don't like. Also, Phil's insight are good for conversations around this area.

Are you going to elaborate on your incorrect position? Or shall we assume you are trolling?
| pokoko said: What are you talking about? I clearly specified console only gamers with that line. Where did I say anywhere that no one can own both? Especially when I consider myself a PC/console gamer? However, if you're saying that most Scorpio owners will be PC gamers then please provide a source. I never said anything about winning sales contests, either. I said "significant market", which implies enough of a market to make production worthwhile. |
Because. You are making the comparison point between a console and a PC. And I quote:

They aren't mutually exclusive. I'll have both.

Right, lemme just go ahead and drop my PS+, abandon my hard-earned trophy score, abandon all the games I already own digitally, sell my physical collection, sell my PS4 Pro, pre-order an Xbox Scorpio, and get all my friends to do the same.
Oh wait, no. That's stupid. This generation is too far in for a change to the status quo.

Nah, Scorpio is for people who already own XB1 to upgrade to. I'll purchase a secondhand XB1S when someone sells it to get a Scorpio.

Lol in the end it won't matter but I know I'm still going to get it

Exactly, which makes the too little too late stuff even more silly.

Yea, that's why the Scorpio isn't changing much. If you look at sales, interest in the XBO at $249 has started to drop, even in the US. Having a $400-$500 version with prettier graphics isn't going to help much. Especially since it'll only appeal to people in a handful of regions to begin with.
And while it's not the biggest reason to switch/stay, I think Sony coming up with a better trophy system is going to help. I mean the gamerscore just seems outdated, like keeping score in Atari games. It sure wasn't enough to keep people with Xbox, like some thought it might. Having it work more like leveling up in a RPG just seems more interesting to me. Again, I don't think it'll be a big reason, but I think it'll part of the reason people stay with PS this and next gen.
