So, Nvidia Shield will work out a bit like their iQue solution... Nintendo comes up with the games, Nvidia with the HW and at the end of the day, they both benefit from this.
I could see this working.

That's what I was thinking!

I just don't see any gaming company breaking into the Chinese market with a successful dedicated gaming device since they seem to be strictly a PC/mobile market.  It would probably be more prudent for Nintendo to push for more Free to Start mobile games over there instead of dedicated gaming platforms and single purchase games.

One thing doesn't exclude the other...

I don't know how this came to be, but from Nintendo's perspective, they are spending little to no money (i assume there's spending on Nintendo's behalf if they are the ones handling the ports) to have their games on the chinese market.
It's true that it's not the best solution seeing as that market is more of a PC/mobile market, but as they say, one bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.

Also, Shield has PC streaming capabilities too, if i'm not mistaken. That could help.

The day will come when Nintendo starts bringing their mobile games to China. Until then, this is a first step - pratically free!

China's a big market. Makes sense to try to break in there.

So will Nvidia so something in return for the Switch? who knows

Yes. In return they will release all Nvidia games on the Switch.

This sounds like the Phillips CDi deal only this time Nintendo will get it right.

I dont know if I believe this. If the argument is to break into the market, I dont see that working(Shield is not popular there, is it?).Plus its not like old games are going to convince people to buy other Nintendo related hardware.

I dont know, it just makes more sense to just launch the Switch there. If price is a problem, then just hold off one year and launch when you can produce it cheaper.

It's not that simple. Launching a console in China is a humongous hassle for a manufacturer due to state restrictions. The government regulates and censors the crap out of everything. Nintendo woudln't be able to launch the same Switch as what the rest of the world got, and the approval process would take forever. Sony and MS tried it and failed already with the PS4 and X1:

Doesn't the Switch sell in China? Oh, well. Not that weird to see this, considering that the Switch is more or less just a portable NVidia Shield, but still odd Nintendo isn't pushing its own hardware brand over there. How are Nintendo's mobile apps doing in China?

Also, if this is the Wii or DS version of NSMB, does that mean we'll get a VC for those systems soon?

You know it deserves the GOTY.
