Forums - Gaming - Look, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Probably Isn't a PS4 Exclusive

If its not exclusive I personally find it interesting that Sony would let Activision remake the first 3 games and not make them exclusive.

Because Sony couldn't do a thing to stop them if they wanted to? Activision own everything to do with Crash including the first 3 games, they can do what they want with him.

KOF 14 says "console exclusive" on the box BTW.

Now with that said, Sony normally puts in clear writing what kind of exclusive deal they have on a title. Whether it's timed or not. Or if they just don't know yet.

As for Crash. I have no clue. The first 3 titles have always been published by Sony. On PSN it was re-released by Sony. On the Xperia Play, it was Sony. In Uncharted 4, it was put in most likely because Sony "owns" something about the first 3 titles. I think Sony might own the "games" while Activision owns the IP. Kinda like how Sony owns Heavy Rain but Quantic Dream owns the actual game.

Making an issue out of an issue doesn't justify the making of the original issue.

Pure speculation and nothing more. I could see this game being released on PC too but other consoles are highly unlikely imo.

It will get released on Xbox One and Switch because there's a big family audience there.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Pretty good news

Really I assumed Sony have publishing rights to the first 3 hence why they havent been released anywhere else.

I'd assume it'd be no different than with Banjo and Kazooie, Nintendo owned the IP and published that game but Microsoft re-released it in Rare Replay. I guess it might have something to do with what deals were made. But the fact that it's a remake might also affect things as well.

This boxart seems pretty final to me. There's still no mention of exclusivity anywhere on the box though, anyone knows if the "Only on PlayStation" label is US-only? (US cover hasn't been updated yet). They really want people to know it's 3 games in one, huh.

The boxart isn't horrible... But it's not very good either. I'm mainly bugged by Crash's strange stance. There's way too many round shapes in his body in the image, and the style looks pretty odd for Crash. It's not a bad style, just feels a bit out of place. That said, I'm still getting the game unless there's something seriously wrong with it.
