The VG-Database on VGC didn't came up with EA Sports active as I searched for publisher EA and Wii. So, they had a better selling game. But do you know why I needed the search in the first place? I remembered that EA actually did have a lot of games on Wii, but I didn't remember a single name. Not one game was memorable. So, I said the support will be crappy, because I think it was on Wii. Quantity, sure, was OK. But the quality of the games? Not one memorable game. Not much of a budget for all the games. And just look at FIFA: did EA invest some resources to make it a good port that actually plays to the strengths of the Wii? No, they were cheaping out. Hence the ridiculously low sales of FIFA on Wii. Still enough to moake money on the crappy port I'm sure, but nowhere near the sales on other platforms. If you think EA-support for Wii was substantial, then tell me, which games from EA you bought (or wanted to buy) for Wii and liked?

To show that I'm not senselessly hate EA, just compare with someone else. Ubisoft invested money to create a new game for the Wii, that should play to it's strengths: Red Steel. Sadly this didn't work out too well. Then Ubisoft invested again and invented another game: Just Dance. This paid out very well. So compare Ubisoft and EA, two companies of similar size and importance and tell me, that the investments for games on Wii wasn't crappy on EAs part compared to Ubi.

And you completely avoided my main point anyways. I said initially and stand by it: EAs support is irrelevant. Because it never worked well on Nintendo platforms. The Wii was a success, but which of the games EA made sold any Wiis? Do you think EA Sports Active made people think: yes, the Wii is a platform I want for this game. The games sold to the existing base only. On the other hand: also for EA the Wii wasn't great. They made much more money off of other platforms. Compare again to Ubi. Ubi invested more and got more back. So: EAs support for the Switch will be irrelevant again, Ubisofts support will be more impactful.

And I get it you probably like EA. And you like their games. But do you like their games on Nintendo-platforms? Probably not. So open your eyes and see: EAs support for Nintendo-platforms is crappy as they don't invest in this platforms, EAs support is also irrelevant to success (Wii) or failure (WiiU) of Nintendos platforms. And Nintendos success is mostly irrelevant for EAs revenue.

So you dont have any interest in EA? Not really my issue that you didnt bother to search  properly, or you dont know their wii software. Your lack of interest doesnt equate to an objective lack of memorable titles. Looks to me that you jsut dont care about EA and using that as an excuse to downplay their Wii efforts.

But you sure act like you know alot about EA software on Wii. Strange. Wii FIFA titles actually got some pretty good reviews from some outlets, and seems like they tailored the game to match the hardware with motion controls, for example. So....

Without any much though, Dead Space Extraction and Boom Blox jump to mind. But I dont really play or buy EA games. Vast majorty of their output is irrelevant to my interests.

Man, you really hate EA. EA invested in unique and exclusive IPs, like Boom Blox, and createed unique experiences from their other IPs with games like DS Extraction. Just because Ubisoft ended up with a winner with Just Dance now means that other publishers who didnt find similar success just werent doing enough? Lol, ok. EA brought tons of games to the Wii, and even had massive success with the Wii too. Even the debut release of Tiger Woods 10 saw the Wii version be in the top 4 selling software for that month, with none of the other versions appearing in the top 10 for their respective platforms. Ea Sports Active did over 600k in its opening month, and 1.8 million in the quarter it was released. These are examples of some of the success EA saw on the wii.

And you know this how? Please, what evidence do you have shows that EA software like EA Sports Active didnt drive hardware? It did 1.8 million in 3 months. EA had 21% of the WIi market share in the US and 13% in EU at around this point, with Tiger Woods, Rock Band and Grand Slam Tennis being noticable movers for them.

haha you cant just make up stuff and claim them to be facts. EA possibly making more money off other hardware, and Ubisoft possibly making more money on the Wii doesnt mean EA didnt invest in Wii software. Tha doesnt even remotely make sense.

Your argument lacks weight. The only truth to anything you wrote is that EA support of WiiU was bad. Guess what? WiiU tanked hard hardware wise and EA ended up making a good financial call on that. Wii? They put in the support and reaped the rewards. Acting like EA didnt invest in the Wii or didnt make money is just you having zero idea what you are talking about. So no, EA support is not irrelevant. Maybe to you because you clearly dislike them, but that is your issue I guess.

I don't know why you try to make your point by constantly claiming I hate EA. I don't care about EA, that isn't hate.

And my point is just, they don't matter. Boom Blox charted 24th place in the release week in the US. The Wii was down 63% from the previous week (which had Mario Kart). Seemingly Boom Blox did not much to prevent the drop from the Kart-week and as it sold 21K, even the still elevated level of Wii is mostly due to Mario Kart (to no surprise really).

In europe the game doesn't even chart, the Wii is slightly down. In Japan the game also does not chart, Wii up 1%.

http://www.vgchartz.com/weekly/39649/Japan/

And I don't see how Boom Blox for all it did right had a big budget. Sure, it was well made and fun, but a B-title.

And you seem totally pissed that I said the support is crappy. For gods sake, then I reword: the support from EA for Wii was not crappy, but they didn't invest a lot of money into games on the Wii, although they released quite their share of games.

EA Sports Active is their big seller, right. Let's take a look. As this game released in the US and europe in the same week and did only 60K in Japan, I look at global data. The title actually charted pretty well and the Wii was 15% elevated, that's around 25K. The following week it did even stronger and another 25K Wiis were sold to the baselevel. The third week the Wii-sales dropped to +5K towards baselevel. So overall maybe 100K. Not too bad, but not a game changer either.

And that makes their support still irrelevant. They may have moved a few 100K Wiis with their software, but probably not even a million. But as they moved some Wiis and I'm tired that you constantly attack me as EA-hater, let's say it is relevant. After all they move something. But still, Ubisoft or Square Enix are more important to Nintendo-consoles. It probably has to do with the customers that buy Nintendo-consoles and the ones that buy EA-games. The overlap isn't that big. That is fine by me, by the way.

EA did give us good games on the system (Wii U), they were sadly just old ports though that had their time already.

So yes, they gave the Wii U good games, but it was unfair how old they were.

Everyone comes back to Nintendo when sales are up.

They rushed FIFA and Madden on Wii U (they were 6 months ports which I assume FIFA Switch will get the proper 6 month or less devotion).  Mass Effect 3... Everyone knows how they fucked that with Trilogy being released on other systems.  I'd say the only good port EA did was NFS: Most Wanted U.  So if you count 1 good game as games then so be it.

That's some unprecedented concideration right there.
