Forums - Nintendo - Wii U Pro + Gamecube controller support for NS on the way?

This is Nintendo we're talking about here. They're not going to let WiiU pro controllers be compatible with the Switch. I don't blame them either. That's a massive amount of money being thrown out the window.

Gamecube controller use would be pretty awesome though. They did it for the WiiU. Hopefully they do it again for the Switch and it's inevitable Smash game.

Why not support the Wii u gamepad and wiimote as Well then? I mean it would be pretty easy for them right?

well the Wiimotes require the Wii Sensor bar which is powered by the wii's port for that, which is missing from the switch so it's unlikely they'll show up on the switch at all.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

What ironmandx said. Nintendo's not going to keep passing up EZ money by allowing you to keep using the same controllers over and over again, especially going from a console that sold like dried turd to a console that's flying off of shelves. I'd love to be wrong though. I hate spending money on extra controllers because I don't have more than one extra person over often enough to justify it.

Nope you can connect the wiimote just can't use gyro without sensor bar. I have connected my wiimote to wii u without sensor connected. And no excuse for not supporting Wii U Gamepad

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

Love it. GCN had the most comfortable controller ever.

All I want them to do is restart production of the wavebird, is that too much to ask?
