He's wrong.

Never trust SMD; he's a pathological liar who deceived a majority of the Nintendo community into believing the NX would actually be a console on par or more powerful than the PS4 Pro. He stated he was an insider and rejected anybody who considered the validity of Eurogamer's sources on it being a hybrid, despite his genuine uncertainty that it would be a powerful console. Absolutely nothing Nintendo had stated, or reliable sources, indicated it would be a powerful console; so his evidence was baseless and carried by the fact Nintendo have used AMD's chips for years, ignoring that they could've decided to change considering Nintendo's state in the industry.

Simply put, SMD states what he wants to happen. He's a Metroid fan himself so he's obviously going to try and intrigue fans with these baseless statements. He's already made a fool of himself and it's surprising he's charging back for more.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that a Metroid title is in development for the Switch, but two would be quite unusual considering the relative niche appeal of the franchise among Nintendo's bigger names. I guess it would be interesting if one of them was being developed in the west and the other in Japan.

Lol for a 30+ year old series that has barely sold more games that Wii U consoles out there. Very highly unlikely.

And Metroid Prime Pinball 2 will be the better game

Do people not understand that not every rumor/leak comes true? Some of it is misunderstanding, things change, release dates change, etc. Some could get 99 percent of what they say right, and miss one thing and you'd guys would go rabid saying "they can't be trusted".

Well anyway getting back on topic, this isn't too unbelievable they've released multiple Metroid games close to each other multiple times. I mean it took them 8 years between super and prime/fusion (both being released on 2002, one 2D and one 3D).

Well, there's a precedent. Metroid Prime and Fusion started to develop and were launched around the same time after 7-8 years without a Metroid game.

That being said, I don't believe the source.

According to the rumor, Retro is simultaneously developing a new IP and this new Metroid, so that worry would be taken care of at least. This is what sticks out to me as the least believable part of the rumor, though; Retro hasn't tried co-developing games since the very early 2000s, and then immediately got told to stop doing it by Miyamoto because it wasn't going well.

That wouldn't surprise me. The original Metroid Prime Pinball was a great pinball game.

Yeah, and NX is going to use AMD chips too...I just kinda don't trust this guy as much anymore.
