I hope the Retro part is false because I want them tackling a new IP.I want them to have total creative freedom.With so much talent, it will be more interesting they trying to do something new rather than being "bind" to an estabelished franchise.

According to the rumor, Retro is simultaneously developing a new IP and this new Metroid, so that worry would be taken care of at least. This is what sticks out to me as the least believable part of the rumor, though; Retro hasn't tried co-developing games since the very early 2000s, and then immediately got told to stop doing it by Miyamoto because it wasn't going well.
