Do people not understand that not every rumor/leak comes true? Some of it is misunderstanding, things change, release dates change, etc. Some could get 99 percent of what they say right, and miss one thing and you'd guys would go rabid saying "they can't be trusted".
Well anyway getting back on topic, this isn't too unbelievable they've released multiple Metroid games close to each other multiple times. I mean it took them 8 years between super and prime/fusion (both being released on 2002, one 2D and one 3D).
