NBA 2K18 was technically announced for Switch a few months ago. Today though, 2K Sports announced that the game will launch on September 19 right alongside all other versions of the game.

2K Sports is also giving Switch the same treatment as other consoles when it comes to special editions. You’ll be able to pick up a standard copy, Legend Edition, or Legend Edition Gold.

The NBA 2K18 Legend Edition includes the following:

Physical Items:

Limited-edition Shaq poster;

5 Panini trading cards;

Exclusive stickers.

Digital Content:

100,000 Virtual Currency;

20 Weekly MyTEAM Packs;

Shaq in-game items;

And more

The NBA 2K18 Legend Edition Gold contains:

Physical Items:

Limited-edition Shaq Poster;

Lenticular;

10 Panini trading cards;

Exclusive stickers.

Digital Content:

250,000 Virtual Currency;

40 Weekly MyTEAM Packs;

Shaq in-game items;

And more

Note: those who pre-order the NBA 2K18 Legend Edition and NBA 2K18 Legend Edition Gold at participating North American retail and online vendors receive Early Tip-Off Access. This ensures they receive their copy and in-game bonuses four days early beginning on September 15.

The NBA 2K18 Legend Edition and Legend Edition Gold will be sold for $99.99 and $149.99 respectively. However, the NBA 2K18 Legend Edition Gold physical edition is available exclusively at GameStop.

We have the boxarts for the standard and Legend Edition above. At least for the Legend Editions, the boxarts star Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, who is appearing for the third time on an NBA 2K cover.

Best Buy is taking pre-orders for NBA 2K18 here, including the first Legend Edition. Amazon has them here. Nothing from GameStop yet, but we’ll let you know when that changes (and when we have the Switch Legend Edition Gold cover).

Buying for Switch, but why use Miami-era Shaq for the cover? Lakers or even Magic-era would be cooler. Is Michael Jordan in the game?

EDIT: See they have a Lakers cover too. The Kobe-Shaq commercial is funny.
