Yeah tunisia if not include Eu countries.  Malaysia and Indonesia are not great countries for christians.

If not including EU countries? But... there aren't any muslim EU countries.

There is Berlin Neukölln.

That is a shame. Turkey used to be more open. I wish I visited Istanbul before it became like this.

One should at least mention WHY the turkish government is blocking Wikipedia, how they justify it.

I find it a bit strange that apparently not a single user in this thread has so far shown interest in hearing the turkish government's side, their justification for this.

Sure, after hearing it, one might come to the conclusion that it's utter bullshit. But not even showing interest in hearing their side (fill in your lame and ridiculous excuse for not doing so here: ....), while maybe even being quick with judgements, indicates that you are biased and prejudiced, and that you are not even interested in actually understanding the issue, but simply in information that seems to confirm your prejudices.

So, even though nobody seems to be interested in hearing their side, here's their official reasoning:

There are one or more articles in the turkish Wikipedia that claim that the turkish government supports terrorists, terrorist groups or something like that.

One might argue that this is in indeed true (there is no universally accepted definition of "terrorists" or "terrorism", and "supporting" is a bullshit phrase that can basically mean anything). But it's also true that the very same could be said about almost every country in this world; the US, Germany, England, France, you name it. Yet, every single of those countries would take offence at something like this being clearly stated in a popular encyclopedia, and they'd all go to lengths trying to to remove or at least rephrase such statements. They might use other, more subtle means to do so than simply blocking the website, but that's about it.

Big deal. Teachers all over the world have been banning billions of students from using Wikipedia for over a decade now. But as soon as a dictator does it once everyone is losing their minds.

Lol we all used it anyways.

hmm, not sure some of them (ie. Kazakhstan) are actually European...

But didn't know Bosnia/Albania had a mulsim majority. Guess the crown for most democratic/progressive muslim country wasn't Turkey's to lose in the first place then

Well if you use the Ural mountains rule it is partially European but can also be considered Partially Asian and Middle Eastern..

I'd say Malaysia and Indonesia both take the crown here.

Indonesia is the highest scoring muslim majority country in the democracy index, but afaik it's been less than 20 years that the military stood idly by or participated when the terror organization Laskar Jihad forced conversions (Islam or death) on christian villages on the Maluku Islands

burning of churches still seems to be a pretty regular occurance aswell as denouncing people as "blasphemous" resulting in court trials or mob justice, but not that much is reported

Ah. Thanks for letting me know, I was hesitating to say "Albania" earlier, but now I'm pretty much going to say Albania. That said, I do have more contact with the more secular cities of both Malaysia and Indonesia, so that's one reason I think that way.

You assume that everyone here didn't read the artcile (which is linked in the OP) or didn't read about the topic at hand anywhere else on the internet. It tells me that you are quick with judgements, and it indicates that you are biased and prejudiced, and that you aren't even willing to factor in that some of the people who posted here might have read about the subject somewhere else or even the linked NYT article which does say the Turkish government is offended by some of the content on Wikipedia. You simply just want to confirm your own coolness, superiority, or intelligence or whatever by assuming everyone here is just biased and not a cool "researcher" like yourself. (fill in your lame and ridiculous excuse for doing so here: ....)

nobody had to ask "why?" because we already knew as the turkish government uses the same explanation every damn time!

whether it's imprisonment of journalists and judges/kurdish mayors, the blocking of twitter/facebook (and now Wikipedia) or giving the president sweeping new powers (starting next term) - it's always "because terrorism"

so I can't help but perceive your post as vapid virtue signaling

Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are partially in Europe. They actually play in UEFA too, as all transontinental states do for some reason.
