Is there anybody who is clever person  in  this thread ?

Its not that they are not clever, but since this is a thread about a negative Nintendo news(Even if its about a computer mistake), the ones that are not happy with the Switch will jump to the chance to express their discontempt.

What about my post? I wish I was up a couple hours earlier to fix the mess going on here. I'm personally don't like the switch, but there needs to be a disaster to see a stock plunge 60%.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

If Switch "is Switch quite undesirable" it wouldn't be best selling Nintendo console in 1st month on US market, Nintendo wouldn't have problems to keep up with demands for Switch.

Nobody really cares about 4G or browser on Switch, it would be nice thing to have, but its not deal breaker in any case.

The perception right now is that it is selling well of the back of the poor performance of the WiiU. A group of people have been on edge for a reset, and the Switch hits its notes well for that small crowd. It will have to sustain this momentum, and build on it over the next 18 - 24 months.

I know the Switch is desirable to the core Nintendo crowd, and a portion of the core gmaing crowd. Hell, it is desirable to me, and I have the cash set aside to grab one either over the summer or this fall. The problem is, anyone outside of the core gaming market or Nintendo fans has showed no interest in the device. Your everyday, mass market consumer expects more from products now, and whether it is a $50 device or a $800 device, it has to be multifaceted.

Also, I don't just pull this stuff out of my ass. I have financial consultants from Voya for my work savings and TD Ameritrade for personal trading. They both have been instructed to keep me up on Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, AMD, Nvidia, and Intel. I get a call each quarter from both of them, and get their takes on where I should move my money, and their outlook on these companies. Sure, they are not the be all end all, but this is the just of what both of them felt as of right now.

No, perception is now that is selling because great launch game, great concept, great branding and marketing, and lineup of huge system seller games in 1st 9 monts.

Actualy because very intresting Switch concept is desiarible outseid core Nintendo crowd. Fact that is best selling Nintendo console ever in 1st month on US market and that Nintendo have huge problems to keep up with demands for Switch, proves that.

This is possibly a result of sabotaging their own future and being idiots yet again. I honestly don't know what the fuck they're thinking at all these days, or whether they're thinking at all.

No, this is obvious mistake, of course that stock will not drop by 56% because Nintendo announced onother revision of console that still sells great and still made great profit to Nintendo. Its crazy to even think that would be a reason, drops like those are possible for earthquakes or something similar.

Selling out constantly? There are shortages in the US and Japan, but that seems to be it. And keeping the 3DS going much longer is a ridiculous idea and forces them to keep splitting their software development efforts. I'm 105% sure that this is a terrible move from them long term. Yet another revision will spike sales for a couple of months and then they die down again and they're back at square one and have spent even more money on another revision and have spent precious software development time on a platform heavily on its way down instead of throwing it all behind the one on its way up.

I admire your conviction but it seems you don't get it.   The 3ds market is a cash cow.  The 2DS XL is low effort on the design front and low cost on the manufacturing front.   Why would you think they should abandon a huge userbase and profitable software market ?   It would cause bad feeling with the userbase and publishing comminity also. The release of the 2DS XL is unrelated to how nintendo allocates software development resources.  Its a niche product for a segment of the market that isn't looking at switch yet.

I'm pretty sure they know their business better than you do :)

Well said.

Oh, I didnt mean everyone, just the ones more vocal here giving the reasons why the Switch supposidely dropped that far(like the 4G nonsense).Your reasoning was quite good actually!

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I know investors can be stupid as hell. They are pessimistic about everything Nintendo does except when they invest in mobile. Even when they make big and exciting announcements which gives every normal gamer a boner, the stocks drop. Still, this is most likely an error indeed, especially when you consider the Switch's success.

Well in case of Switch, that isn't true.

Dammit, would've bought some shares if this was true

The lack of a 4G Switch is a huge part of it.

I know this is not popular on gaming forums, but it is a reality beyond our little world. The idea of a non connected mobile device is not hot, and the lack of a browser or any other apps/functions makes Switch quite undesirable.

The market backs those attempting to grow, not merely sustain what is left of a shrinking market. Switch is going to be a great device for about 20 - 50 Million people, but that is nothing to invest in. Give investors a Switch phone next year or the year after, and open that possible market up to 200 500 Million people, and they will be singing a different tune.

Lol, I wish a few more people thought it was undesirable so I could get my hands on one. Every store in my city has been sold out since launch and new shipments are snatched up within hours.

So, false alarm?

Actually, if you went through a famous thread in here where I wasted way too much time on some idiot with insane predictions, you'd see that I knew more about Nintendo's business than they did themselves during the 8th gen... It's no huge secret that they've been constantly making massive mistakes now for many years.

Edit; I'm not saying the Switch is a massive mistake, mind you. My point is that the tired old "Nintendo know what they're doing" is an extremely easy statement to shoot down with very recent and less recent events in mind.

Perhaps it's not selling out in Sweden (rarely does anything Nintendo sell well in Scandinavia to begin with) but it's most certainly selling out in most regions.  Have you not been keeping up with the news the past 2 months?

Yes I have. It's sold it in some regions, yes, but far from globally. And as I've repeated dozens and dozens of times on these boards lately; we need to see a proper baseline to draw any conclusions. 7-8 weeks into a console life cycle is not the time to neither gloat nor condemn.
