The French just took a look at Trump and May and said "Nope!"

They been making horrible decisions, so it goes to show, common sense does sometime work.

Really? Terrible decisions, like what?
You seem to imply they made a lot of those "terrible" decisions; like any country out there, some of them were defintely bad (imo) but I do not think they made a lot of bad or terrible decisions lately (or in the last 4 years) even if I personnaly dislike Hollande (the personnality but also the majority of his decisions)

At least France does not have an empty headed pop-star as prime minister (yah you can argue Hollande kinda look like a mollusc...) :)

On the topic, this is really good news. With what's going on in Germany, Europe is in good hand.
It would have been a disaster for Europe (and the Euro) if Le Pen would have been ellected (which was very unlikely anyway).

There won't be another election. Immigrants vote left. Happens in US too. France as a country is gone. More (economic) migrants will flood the country requiring more and more aid from the tax basis. This will further squeeze the productive class in society killing job growth. The government will grow larger, youth unemployment will get worse. There is no economic future for France. Le Pen was a socialist, but at least solving immigration would have given the country another 10 years to solve everything else. Macron will import more and more voters and the country will descend into a third world hellhole.

The market for generation 9 has fundamentally shifted. Europe (sans the UK) will not be a viable market anymore.

As a matter of fact, immigrants, particularly the poor, uneducated, barely vote at all (less than 30%)

As for economic future, the stock markets, most people qualified to talk about economics, strongly disagree with you. Both the Euro and CAC40 exploded after Macron's victory in the first round.

The same people who allowed for the housing market to crash, and said that the banks were too big to fail? Please...

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Well atleast it would get destroyed by what the youngest generations voted and not by the old ones.

I don't see your point exactly. Macron is going to be like Hollande, which as you know was some of the worst years in French history.

hah, unlike northamerican nations France has a looooong history and calling the last 5 "some of the worst years in french history" makes you look very silly

Expected landslide victory

I should've reworded that, I mean't recent history. I mean you can't comapare WW2 and the Napoleonic wars as an example, both were hell for all of Europe.

Did you just bring video game sales into this?

Yes. I mean, we're on a site that talks about video games.

It just seemed hugely disjointed from the rest of your post. Of course, I don't agree with your post at all anyways.

YES! Common sense has triumphed over fear fetishism!

Sanity FTW, although Melenchon should've won! Communism should make a glorious come back. A revamped Communism 2.0 for the 21st century!

Nah, no matter how many years you're hoping for, it just isn't gonna happen with Le Pen. Until the polls came in we heard how it was all but confirmed she was gonna win in 2017. Extremism isn't the answer to combatting extremism. All she did was to whine about the problems but never provide the solutions to solve the problems.

Looking how Geert Wilders lost, Trump having the lowest approval ratings in history and how terrible his first 100 days have been I'd say the fascist populist hype is coming to an end.

Oh, you're back :)

Is this now enough proof for you that fascist/xenophobes do not represent a majority in Europe?

Don't stop til we achieve Red Dawn all over the world comrade!

No, we didn't. We heard that she was maybe going to win the first round, but that she was doomed in the second round. She wasn't going to win this time, and everybody saw it coming.

I'm talking after the terror attacks, certain people were sure she was gonna win and fascist populism was gonna take over Europe...

Most major banks were short on the american housing bubble. They told customers everything's going well, because highest profits can be made with people that have problems paying their debts.

And, in the end, the government bailed out most banks. In average, the whole situation was quite profitable. They were handing out billions upon billions in bonuses for years.
