hah, unlike northamerican nations France has a looooong history and calling the last 5 "some of the worst years in french history" makes you look very silly

I should've reworded that, I mean't recent history. I mean you can't comapare WW2 and the Napoleonic wars as an example, both were hell for all of Europe.
